Er, aren't you on a 30D? Don't you have a 1.6x crop to add to that too?

You are right, I forgot to include that.
So rightfully, it should be 200 x 1.6 crop factor = 320mm x 1.4 converter = 450mm.
Is the calculation correct?

Yup I should think so. 448mm to be exact.
 

Nikon has a 1.5x crop factor for the D80 and the other dx sensor bodies;)
so its abt 600mm x 2 (tc) x 1.5(crop factor) = 1800mm if u like to calculate..
can fight with SAF snipers already eh.... haha!

Hmmm......even with that, it's considered a very good lens. How much did the lens cost you?

Tonight is full moon (15th of lunar month). The moon is quite round. Took some shots to test out. True enough, full moon does not give much shadow and hence craters are not very well defined.

Here is one of them.
