Hi Clubsnap
This is my first post and I'm afraid a negative post.... I hate doing this sort of thing and in my 5 year career as a model I have NEVER had to do this, however it is a last resort!:(
I am a model from the UK who was recently booked by Monobeauty. Worked with some lovely people while on the job and enjoyed the work however dealing with bob has been a nightmare. The job was a month ago and he still owes me nearly £200!!! I let him off paying it while I was there as he said one of the photographers had burnt a curtain in the hotel and he had to pay. I said fine, put it into my account in a week. Nothing. I have emailed him many times and rang him every few days. He has no returned my emails or my calls and I believe he is avoiding me on purpose. He is in fact just ran away!!! Very manly...
Anyway I - actually my mother as she had to foot the bill for the expenses - am now down nearly £200 a month after the job. It was agreed I would have all monies by the time I left. He is also trying to fly models in a lot for work and I wonder how many people have been burnt.

Are there any options open to me?

be patient.....it take approximately a year for him to clear his bill as far as we knw
 

It seems that threads involving monobeauty and such cases surface every now and then. For now I guess you can surf clubsnap for more information...
 

Well the thing that's silly is he asked me to get more models for him!!! - as if that would ever happen after this behaviour. How are photographers still booking through him? I'm guessing this is a bad berry in Singapore not the way people in Singapore operates as a rule of thumb?

I had replied you. The question here is, what money do I owed you? The fee you worked for? No, cos I paid you more that what you worked for. You are supposed to work 24 hrs but you only worked 16 hrs.

What you are trying to get from me are those transportations back home, mistakes your marketing made. I asked for the receipts to prove but you don't even show me any.

YOU request I come out for a certain date, I said I was working in France but could cut it short if you cover the cost of the flight to which you agreed and I have saved on my computer - for the record. I changed the flight out of MY pocket, gave you the receipt and also emailed the receipt - let's not forget YOU REFUSED to give your address. - £113
YOU booked the flights wrong you booked from London Heathrow to Singapore then Singapore to Paris where I had to then get a transfer all the way across Paris costing ME - £20 to get another flight to London City not Heathrow which is where you said I'd be flying back to standard. So I had booked my transfers to my home town Bristol which you had promised to pay. - £40. That transfer was then VOID on the return because YOU could not book flights and were a cheapskate in booking the flights meaning i had like a 2 day journey!!!
I then had to transfer across London £5 and get another Coach from London Victoria to my home town Bristol and then a taxi back to my house £12. So total £200
Regarding the fee you paid me it was pre agreed - YOU said you HAD the clients - you cannot renege on half the deal once the model is in the country because YOU have such a bad rep people wont work with you!! THIS is YOUR problem. Perhaps handling yourself in a more professional manner will help you there.
You agreed to put it into my account and you haven't! Please pay me what you owe me.

--- how could you possibly give me the receipts before you even start the journey? what you wrote to me were estimates which you checked on the internet, and not the REAL receipts. i don't think i m that "silly"? if that can be used as receipts, everyone can just scribble any amount he/she likes and claim with their company.

--- you called me silly and stupid for booking the wrong flight etc etc. why don't your marketing manager or you pointed that mistake to me before i booked the ticket? she could have told me and said it was wrong but instead she asked me to go ahead to book it. you even double checked the ticket and even accepted it. it is your responsibility, you could have rejected it but you took it conveniently. our agreement is i m responsible for you flight from london to singapore and back to london and not some domestic journey back home although i agreed to pay part of your taxi to the airport.

--- speaking of professionalism, from beginning till now, she had showed yours by being rude and name calling. it doesn't matter whether i had clients or not as long as i paid you the full amount as agreed. so whats the problem?

whether or not you are liable for the full 24 hours depends on the agreement.

if it clearly states that it is chargeable on a per hour basis then there is no liaility.

if you decide to end the shoot early but the agreement is for the full 24 hours, then you can't just claim, oh i pay you lesser.

its not the shoot fee that she is claiming, its her transportation back home without receipts. i paid her full for her work here even she only shot 16hrs. get it? what she is trying to confuse the reader is that i owe her her salary which is not true. imagine can you reimburse your staff or your boss reimburse your transportation money without providing receipts?

Friend, it does not matter what she is claiming, Gazkw is merely trying to attack your defence that you paid her 24 hours for 16 hours work; because if you indeed contracted with her for 24 hours but end up (due to your fault/negligence/inability etc) you only needed her to shoot for 16 hours, then you are still liable for 24 hours work; and hence, making the point you paid her more than she should have been paid; does not score points for you.

You have lumped the two issues into one.

Really amusing. Its a profession we talking here, not the production assistant operators where you go by working hours rate. From what i see if you will pay for 24hrs and need her for 24hours then due to unforseen circumstances you only need her for 16hrs sorry but its not local model she has to fly down here unless you find her job for the balance 8hrs otherwise you have to pay up. Its the agreement and information on job hrs requested of her prior to her taking up the assignment. Please singapore labor law limits an employee's working hours per week so do you think anyone can work for 24hrs a day. I believe it has to be spread into at least 2 days. man not machine need to rest. Even machine need to be shut down periodically for maintenance.

As for claims to bossess. Sad to say unless there is a limit on claim amount and has been communicated between either party prior to the assignment please furnish prove of expenses, in the form of receipt or written signed acknowledgement.

Since you are already clear that you don't owe her her pay, and she is not claiming her pay, then why in the world are you harping on the pay issue all the time? You don't need to score emotional brownie points really to swing people to your side.

Focus on the issues at the forefront as you have been trying to say; not do one thing and say another.

in any case, bobman/monobeauty/watever his previous reincarnations were banned (and re-banned after his clones appeared.. on that alone, we have reasons to ban him for having clones) because he was found to be (a)organising nude shoots on the sly (when we have banned them), and (b) re-directing traffic to his own website for shoots after we de-reg him. probably, he will, once again, be ushered out of here once sufficient time has been given to clear the air with whichever aggrieved parties.

for those not involved, pls do not interfer/interject. this is their own private dispute. thank you.

The matter is now public domain - does this site not fight for what is right? This is about people being aware of how Bob takes or doesn't take care of business it is informative. I'm not into mud slinging I just want what I am owed that I have already spent out on.

At this point I will state Im having problems hunting down the National Express receipt as I handed it to you while in the country - the only copy - and your little rage and temper tore it up. That bundle of papaerwork I gave you BOb had receipts in and you KNOW it!
Regarding the Air France transfer is was 20 euros I HAD to pay to get my connection ring AIr France - they didn't give me a receipt but I got home and couldn't have withoutm paying this transfer....
Regarding the flights I confirmed London Heathrow - SIngapore singapore to Heathrow YOU BOOKED THE WRONG FLIGHT - it has NOTHING to do with my friend who was dealing with you because i had had anough of your UNPROFESSIONAL behaviour.... PROVE it like im doing if not just pay me what YOU OWE ME!!!

This is a photography discussion forum, not a trouble maker ousting web service nor a judicial facility nor a charity.

while we might not agree to certain behaviors the private lives of some members here, we would prefer everyone stay on the guidelines when posting in this forum.
