You could send him a message and ask. Maybe it's by accident?

"All are equal, but some are more equal than others"
Being a mod, should have some privileges, imagine the time they spent monitoring the forum.

wa....this is the first time i see a personal WTS thread being stickied...tot only those advertisers in the mass sales section can pay more $$$ to get their threads stickied on the forum

consider the contribution to all the Clubsnap members by mod PE, like initiating and coordinating the Nikon official and unofficial outings and events, think this is a little privilege he entitle to.

Moderator are given the Privileges of siticking thier Threads in the event if they want to put up a Sale in the B&S forum.

Just for your information, all Moderators are on Volunteer basis. None of them get PAID here.

Even if the Moderators throw you an Infraction for posting this Thread, we the Admin will still side the Moderators and take it that, the Infraction he/she has issue against you is justifiable.

We take it very personal here on any posting or subject that is related to Moderator Bashing. :nono:

Hi, just want to check, is this allowed in the first place? Wouldn't this be perceived as misappropriate use of a moderator's powers? :)

How, praytell, does an enquiry constitute 'Moderator bashing'?

Yes, I take "perceived as misappropriate use of a moderator's powers" as Moderator Bashing.

The tone being use and question ask by TS suggested Moderator took advantage of the access and authority they have in the forums.

In fact, the motive of starting this thread are link to Moderator Bashing.

ok, good to know that being a mod has its privileges as well, otherwise it is really a "chi li bu tao hao" job as a volunteer.

I guess if there was a thread educating the general members on what the privileges of a mod is, this thread wouldn;t have been posted. maybe there is one that i duno of tho :p

To me, that's a bit far fetched. It was a question since sticky threads are unusual in the B&S forum. Can't see any moderator bashing here. If there is an old thread detailing the privileges then this should be made sticky here and can serve as quick check.

Why is there a need to detail what privileges Moderators or Admin are entitled to?

Moderator are Volunteer, not Paid and many times came out their own money for transport, food or even assist to pay when funds are low in ClubSNAP events.

What is needed is not a Thread Detailing what Privileges Moderators are entitled to, but what and how the Moderators has sacrifice for the ClubSNAP and its Members.

I didn't see any mod-bashing here either.

IMO - there is no reason to create an adversarial relationship between moderators/admin and the rest of CS membership here by threatening infractions on what (the way I look at it anyway) is a sincere query to clarify rules, and chastizing ordinary members when they query about different levels of rights. In fact, this is a golden opportunity to establish good relationships all round.

it was a question, an enquiry, and it was not moderator bashing. taking it so personally deprives the user experience. i can link 1000001 things under the world as related to moderator bashing then..

Everyone.. the whole matter has been blown out of proportion.

The simple answer is this:
1) Mods are volunteers here - blood (ok ok, maybe not really blood), sweat, toil and at times, money (especially when running events and other logistics are concerned).

2) Since they are NOT paid, Mods are given additional rights and privileges for their time and efforts hence there is simply no reason to question about stuff like these.

3) If there's any question of possible abuse of authority, a simple pm to any of the admins will quickly clarify the matter.

Thanks for the kind attention, query answered, thread closed.
