did a search... Adorama selling it for US$799 new.

Are these new set and do they come with warranty? Was wondering how it compares to the Minolta Scan Dual III or the Nikon Coolscan IV/4000? There's quite a fair share of pretty poor review for the scanner on the web.. So still considering whether to get it..

No need scanner liao. I got a very portable one which runs off batteries and I can carry around. And I got the non-portable one sitting on my desk as well. :D

Supposed to be a pretty good scanner, for those getting it. I saw it in a number of Photo Finish outlets as well.

what?!? US$999 value for S$500 ... no need to consider consider leh, mai tu liao (as the Hokkien say) .....

BUY! BUY! BUY!

issit me or the reviews are not so positive about the negatives scratching and longevity of the scanner?

sounds like a good deal! up for those looking for film scanners (there were many asking about the Minolta Dimage Dual Scan III). specswise, the Dual Scan III is better in terms of dynamic range, but the other features of the Kodak one beats it...

Hmm.. but without ICE, is it still worth?
IMO, the best one was the $199 scanner...
Still regretting that I didn't get it...

for this model of scanners, discontinued does it = no warrenty???

so what is the price now??

can i collect it on another day other than seed???

BTW what is this "ICE" thing? what is the advantage and disadvantage of having and without having it???;)

ICE jsut means there is a software thing that cleans up the spots from dirt, dust, scratches etc durign the scannign process so that you dont have to manually touch up so much after scanning.

however, i think other than the $199 scanner , this is still a ratehr good deal....the $199 entailed lining up from 10am to 3pm without toilet or meal breaks in a narrow space :P this one no need wor!
