ok, thanks for all your input.
I leave my mio box on sleep mode bcos singtel guy tell me to do so, during this upgrading period.
Normally I will switch off the main power, as normally only watch mio tv during weekend.
hopefully mine will get update by this weekend

mine upgraded and all working fine. Then change modem and upgrade to fibre, Mio becomes purple again. ?????

Mine just updated today....black color front page and subtitle bar....channel surfing seems faster and text is easier to read.....this is what I call real upgrade

Called, but unable to get to the tech support, waited for more than 15mins.
So, just wait and see.

Yeah, faster scrolling the movies list, as you can do page down/up.

When MIO first came out, Starhub was afraid. Later when MIO TV content was limited, Starhub was no longer worried.

Got a new Set-Top Box (STB) from Pace plc (parent company of 2Wire, Inc.) FOC.

After change to fibre since 2010, no more issue on network connection.

Hmm...I recall watching Tatung TV in the mess of the Taiwanese camp during Starlight. That was a long way back.
Looks like Tatung products have not improved much over the years.
