The concept is a modern Wu Song Ta hu. Only this time, the Wu Song is a beautiful woman dressed in modern clothes but with a makeup inspired by actual Opera style, depicting a modern Wu Song and the increasing role of women in the modern society. Women can certainly match men in many task and definitely Ta Hu
if this is a reinterpretation of the Chinese classic 武松打虎, it's a very bad one. if i may add, an offending and embarassing one. i see the concept (as demonstrated by this shot) as superficially twisting the well known story without any serious effort to develop/redesign the protagonist's character, and casually imposing flimsy (even childish) one liner kind of transformation to the plot.
woman wearing pseudo-wayang makeup lying on tiger skin (which looks fake to me in the picture) = modern woman, equivalent of Wu Song (like how he's depicted in wayangs) ???
i mean, what the fish
add: for me, this shot really murdered the mentioned Chinese classic and the art of Chinese wayang ... sheesh, i'm feeling ANGRY already.

That was the first attempt for a fashion shoot. i like to tiger very much, the strong tiger with a feminine lady.
Really thank you kovit for his real tiger,JY for shooting & minyi, help even having fever tat nite. and most importantly bro tuck for his guidance.

this is the paragraph by connie that makes me assume that the tiger is real..
i believe "connie" was present at the shoot as a photographer...

Well, I really should not go on holiday, especially to places with lousy or no internet connection. Saw this thread when it was first posted, did not think much of the picture, because it has nothing for me to think about.
But I am back!
TL, you are so full of s***. Sorry, apologies to all those you offended, let me speak for all, apology not accepted. Once again, I am asking you, actually, I am not asking you, I am saying this out loud, you are a disgrace to those who call themselves photographers or artists!
To all CSers, we have a very bad apple amoung us. What TL is advocating, and he is saying that he will carry it out, is become the official censor of CS, be the moral abritrator of CS, to be a lowlife bottom feeding squeal.
Is this someone we want to have amoung us?
Is this someone we can toletrate to be part of our community?
Is this someone we can ignore?
We have one bad cancer cell growing within our community. We must cut it off as quickily as possible. We must not allow this to spread.
TL can of course express his opinion, that is guaranteed by the freedom of expression. However, he is using this right, turn it around and use it to curb freedom of expression!

I can't help not supporting DP on this issue but because of two photos, extremism starts within your own self righteous state. U shd really question yourself on your stand. I can understand your stand on Voyerism or whatever u called it. But to be an extremist is another matter.
In many religions, to proclaim ownself self righteous is a dangerous act for it will generate ignorance and arrogance and unable to see own fallacies. Thus, this is a dangerous act. From the other thread, I cannot see how Drumma is stressed or whatsoever but yet u are assuming a lot of things. I am not saying whether he is rt or whatsoever, I am advising caution when assuming certain things.

Finally .... a person actually involved in the shoot speaks up ... :thumbsup: for you ...
1) Why didn't any of the people involved in this shoot post it under their own nick in the first place ... I am sure photographer n MUA have accounts in CS. Why was this picture posted by TL? I really don't understand .... Care to explain ?
2) Sincere and Constructive comments were given about the shoot ... but it was the replies from your "mentor" (i presume) that shot the whole thread off tangent and gone into a whole other discussion. I think vince had tried to bring the thread back on track, but the damage has already been done. So if you pick thru the post, i am sure you will find very sincere comments.
3) CS discouraging ??? Barely ... You should really try to put up this image up in some more serious photography websites (internationally) and see what kind of comments you get. We are very mild and a very encouraging community in CS
4) BTW did your "mentor" or "guide" give you any comments after the picture was done? Was it positive ... let us hear what he had to say and we can maybe all see another point to this picture.
Discouraging? How come? You meant your mentor or whatever, posted your picture and you cannot stand the criticism?
Well, the 2 pictures posted really sit squarely in the "sucks" catagory. The most important thing in a picture is lighting and in both instances, the lighting was at best horrible, the styling is "not 3 not 4", and where was your mentor? Did he not say anything? Or did he knew what to say?
One word of advise, find another mentor, if that is what you are looking for.

Please give suggestion or details as to why the lighting was horrible so that Connie can understand better. Or else pp say u are unconstructive again.;p

Because i newly joined clubsnap. in fact, some of my work has been posted earlier on before i aware of clubsnap. in addition, I think photographer n the model has more right to authorise posting of their photos since the photo is not belongs to mua most of the time.
Nv consider to change mentor, just like nv consider to change a friend.
not saying I cant stand of critism, and so far most comment are related to photography, not much affect me.
I welcome critism, and hopefully is not "ren2 shen1 gong1 ji1" that kind.
