You have totally lost me with this one. What has this got to do with anything?

Hi UY....i apologize if i totally lost you....well it will be nice if you could share your experiences too...since we are all learning and we all have our individual setup.... ;)

In addition, just a few post back you said build-in flash in wireless mode could be controlled through EC. Now you are saying it has the same intensity because the EV values did not change and only by varying distances that you can change the front fill?

Anyway, in your experiment there's fill from bounced flash off the walls of your room. In case you didn't notice

As for the tests that i have done....and shared here....there are two....
1- with the toy oven+colored loops:
In the above test....i used the 17-35mm lens fixed at about 70cm ....hence the result...

2- fruits in a basket.....
In this experiment, the camera is at 2 metres away....hence another set of results....

I based my comments on the results i obtained....may be right/may be wrong....and open for discussions...for all to learn....I totally agree with you based on the user manual saying that the control signals only controls the wireless..and no fill in...but the results achieved proves otherwise....

Remember in setup 1, i covered the on-board flash and the frontal "lighting" (i will not use the word fill - to avoid misunderstanding)....is gone....its darkened ......So this contradicts the manual....right?....

I guess....i will continue to get friendly with the system & understand as day go by......

And guess what....besides Gary Walts tests and information on his website...
i guess....my two experimenst here are the only test results I can find on the web ..Do you have any other sites to share...?....Even i can't find a really good example in KM;s website.

One reason possibly because there are really infinite creative use of this system....they juz can tell us how to control....and fire the flash.....results will be consistent for each individual setup....thats what i can say.....

Have a great week ahead....

The FEC control refers to the wireless flash. The onboard flash cannot be controlled. Only perhaps by changing the subject-camera distance.

I noticed in my tests that the subject does get lighted by the onboard flash if u are close enough but it's accidental rather than by design. I shot with only 1 flash from the left (direct) of the subject using the onboard to trigger the 5600. The walls of the room were at least 1.5m or more away, such that the wall directly opposite the 5600 is at least 3m away, so the fill is effectively from the onboard for what it's worth.

Sulhan, I think we should do a test this Thur to get this straight. I'll bring my tripod along.... but we need a subject.... me vote for forbytes.... :)

Too bad can't join you guys....

But will try to a test again.....now with a darkened room...and varying distance....fixing Tv & AV.....to see the resultant....
