Cheers!
The_Cheat said:Hey des! You have any idea how much is a brand new 5600HS huh? Thinking of getting it, once I sold off my digicam!! Hee~!![]()
deslim27 said:Erh.. my last check with CP was $620 incl GST about 2 weeks ago. (should be correct, unless my old brain doesn't function well anymore.)
TME said:Not so ex.... I asked AP before and I was quoted around $550... U can look around for a 2nd hand one.... should cost less than $400... but it's really hard to find one...
deslim27 said:Wah, AP and CP to much different? Next time know where to go liao. Thanks!![]()
vivientan said:Just a sidetrack. I'm currently using 5400HS with varied results. Exposure/lighting looks perfectly fine when I do a wall/ceiling bounce with a bounce card. When I do the same without my bounce card, the bottom part of my subject looks slightly underexposed. Erm, sometimes I just don't wanna attract too much attention shooting with my bounce card lah! :bsmilie: When I shoot using direct flash, subjects are over-exposed.
Is it possible to get even exposure without using a bounce card? How?

vader said:The bounce card actually transfer some of the light to the front when you fire off with it...without the bounce card, the light will spill to the back also when you fire....and maybe your shutter speed is too fast
....the flash will reach the top part of the subject 1st and when the shutter speed is too fast.... the shutter cuts off before the flash reaches the bottom part of the subject...I will suggest you increase the flash compensation when you are using bounce flash...I usually do that even with the bounce card on...I + 1/2 - 1 stop flash compensation as and when I think it's nessasary.
Is your subjects very small in the frame? or is the background very dark? I think it's time to get the "ADI" system....!!joke lah....arrrhahaha
You should use flash compensation when there is the need....and try to understand "TTL" flash metering....
vader said:Conventional "TTL" flash metering takes into account the whole picture when they do their calculations, so when your subject is very small in the frame and the background is very dark..... then the flash will fire with more power causing the subjects to be overexpose.... Same goes when there is very bright/light colour subject in the background, the flash will fire less power and cause the subject to be under-expose.

My SLR has no flash compensation function! That's the reason why I'm always having problems with flash photography.
Erm, not exactly. Even with huge subjects and and acceptable background lighting, I still get over or under-exposed shots. Anyway, thanks for your professional advice!![]()
