hi guys, newbie here..
i have a dynax 500si, quite an old model...

i'm quite happy with my camera, except for one small little problem...

it does not have a port for a cable release.

my question now is, what are the methods out there that can overcome this problem i have?

as i realise that cable release is kinda an important function to me.

oh yah, forgot to mention that methods can include attachments/devices that pushes the normal shutter button externally, instead of electronically..

etc...

unfortunaly, no. The only way to overcome this problem is to use timer mode.

well, it really depand.

Wat kind of photographer are you? sport? nature?macro?

1: do you need DOF preview?
2: do u need mirror lock up ?
3: do u need to mount a 400mm or above tele photo lens?
4: do u travel or trek a lot?
5: do u need a durable body?

If you are a starter, I suggest you stick with your 500si. Shoot more, then ask yourself, "wat kind of photographer are you". Is upgrading a necessary ?

I upgraded from 505si to Dynax 7 because I more a nature photographer, I like shooting birds. I need a telephoto lens.

So, don't rush yourself in upgrading. One step at a time.

GAS is not fun at all.

Hi guys, a question about the 500Si. There's this switch by the left side of the body that allows user to select the 'Paranomic' view. When switched on, does the picture come out in this format too? Or is it just in the viewfinder so as to guide the user when composing the frame? :dunno:

yes, the picture is in Paranomic format,
