Minolta Dual Scan III

just out of curiosity....

I guess you are using the scanner for personal use, for scanning slides into digital so that you can upload them?

Is it good enough to store slides in good enough digital quality to enable reprints of high standards to 8R size?

What's the extra edge a high end model has over this Minolta scanner?

I got it for personal use and uploading.

It's good enough for 8R (I've printed only 6R so far but don't think it's a problem for 8R).

High end models have higher resolution and the ability to remove dusts and some scratches from the scans.

i got response aredi guys. Sad to say their profit margin from minolta is too low.. and thus they're unable to give us a better price even though we've like 27 ppl. That's an amount of

$558 x 27 = $15066

Ap is worse they gave a quote of $620. :(

so now i'm not sure wat to do, scanner is gonna help he says but awaiting news from him. I guess this MO is not gonna happen unless we get any better price. So if any1 is in a hurry to get this i suggest u all go ahead. If no news by next wk, i'd prob get it next SEED.

As for the samples, i think it's due to underexposure. I've not seen such grains from other samples be4. Anyway wat do u expect.. this is a low-priced scanner which performs 'almost' as well as a hi-end 1.

Well, bad new, ppls.
I've personally called a few of the shops which I'm farmilar with,
the lowest I got is $556 for 27 units (from TK). I guess as what hazardman had mentioned, their profit margin from minolta is too low, thus they're unable to give us a better price even though we've 27 ppl.

Since there isn't much price differences, I've suggested that everyone to get the scanner on his/her own.
