too bad the show is over at the time of my this post, anyway the followings are the prices for a1 and a2 at IT show 2004:

a1 - $1688
free gifts - 256mb CF (+256mb CF at the last day), CF Card Reader, tripod and case

a2 - $1888
free gifts - 512mb CF (+256mb CF at the last day), CF Card Reader, tripod and case, (20% discount for external battery pack)

Impressed with Z2's 10x optical zoom, shiok sia! But comparing it with D70 or 300D, is it good enough? :think:

I bought the Dimage Z2 and is very excited about it. The difference between Z1 and Z2 is that the latter is 4 mega pixels instead of 3.2. Z2 also records movie with sound but Z1 doesn't. Z2 got better lens and can add an wider lens if you want. Z2 also can add additional flash.

I tried both at the IT fair and I found that Z1 gets a bit blur when I zoomed to the max of 10X whereas Z2 remains to be very clear.

They give 2 Sd cards of 128MB, and SD card reader, a tripod and GP batteries and charger. So, it's quite a good deal I think!

Will be using it this weekends and let you guys know the results! Anyone who bought the same camera can share experience?? :bsmilie:

Z1 also records sounds, can add lens and can add flash. The issue is the lens, the 'purple fringing'. As for the deal, its very very good, but I think the tripod is a bit cheapo($16.90 type), and IO-data SD cards may not handle the fast writing speed necessary for 30fps 640X480 or 15fps, 800X600 movie modes, cos I observe the sale guy use a toshiba SD card when testing.....
