Wow... the price of the 70-210mm f4 certainly has gone up so much recently... I bought 2 before the introduction of the Minolta DSLR. One for around $220++(sold to reno77) and another for around $180, both in excellent condition, but that was when minolta lens price were at an all time low, when people thought minolta might not be able to survive... It remains my favourite minolta telephoto zoom lens I have.

   woah! That was cheap!

Actually 70-210/4 is selling range from USD70-140 on average, but then have to factor in the shipping cost loh. My first copy got at USD144 + Shipping.. turn out to be around $270-$280.

Yeah, but I got one at the The Camera Workshop and the other from a fellow clubsnapper, so no need shipping costs, hehe... It really was selling cheap then, but can't get these type of prices nowadays.

Well, caught the thread little late. Due to it's range (70-210) and fix f/stop, I loved and of course cost, loved this lens. But, I had not used for last couple of years. After reading the thread, just took it out and tried. It is as slow as 28-70/2.8G (in low light). Of course, quality is not as close to the 28-70/2.8, but I can not complain for $150 vs $1200. If you have a hand on 70-200/4 for good price, don't let it go.

My 2 cents.
