Minimum Dress code for Wedding photographers/videographers

I think minimum also wear a polo t with jeans or cargo pants and covered shoes. No matter the weather is hot and humid. Don't wear bermudas with sandals and show your hairy legs. Looks like you are going downstairs market to buy a packet of Char Kway Teow! Be more professional and show respect to your client's big day of their life. You are a hired photographer for goodness sake. Especially at the wedding dinner. If you dress with bermudas or shorts in sandals I think the hotel waiter waitress or the cleaner auntie uncle also dress better than you. If you look well dressed and professional the chances of you getting business from your client's friend and relatives are also higher.

I do not think poor dressing is an excuse for good photography, just disrespect for yourself and your clients. I think to always dress to the occasion.

Speaking of which... I did a mistake yesterday... My friend ask me for a favour for doing some shots of their pre-wedding at Raffles Hotel's Long Bar, which I vaguely remember... little that I know, I suddenly felt severely under-dress for the venue. No excuse...

I forget to dress as a "wedding photographer"... duh... They were fine with it, but deep down, I suddenly feel the whole world is staring at me wearing bermuda and black T-Shirt (my usual outdoor portrait attire).

That's not going to be good for my brand name... duh...

Just proof that, I am not ready for Wedding Industry... hahahaha...

well-said.. turned me off the moment i saw the two photographers and videographer at my friend's wedding dinner.

one of the photographers was dressed in a baggy t-shirt and berms and wearing sneakers. more for the hip hop scene. IIRC, he disappeared somewhere after the first march in.

the other was dressed in office attire. good for him. but he appeared so inexperienced and didn't know what to do.

the videographer? wearing some crummy old jeans and t-shirt ensemble that looked more at home at a coffee shop. practically only saw him at the first march in, and he spent the rest of the time outside drinking beer and eating. when i glared at him, he just toasted me and grinned. ;(

Fullerton huh. heh heh....anyway the air-conditioning is way too hot for me to be wearing even long-sleeves, i've tried before. I mean when one is sitting down and one is working/cruising around the scene as a PG, it's different.

Only a small handful of ballrooms are cold enough....like Raffles City....actually it depends also.

And speaking tech - the problem what that place, is as you can see in the picture, that particular location has golden reflective ceiling. Bounce the flash and everything gets burned. -EV it down and you can't see nothing by avoiding most of the clipping. So can't flash too much.

But anyway, nice pic!

I have seen this ang mo video camera man damn power. The GOH was President Nathan, so u guessed everyone should dress up right.. But this guy just wear a polo, berms and slippers!! He really stands out from the crowd man.. Thumbs up to him!
