miniDV cameras to capture

I've got a lot of miniDV tapes to digitize before they grow mold but I don't have a miniDV cam to capture.

Anyone got any recommendations on a cheap camera to help do capturing? Any idea how much would a tape deck would cost? Because I'm thinking using a camera to capture is a much more cost effective measure.

A miniDV camera would definitely be more cost-effective.
However, very few brands advertise miniDV models online nowadays. Managed to only find 3 from Sony.
Below is the cheapest they advertised online.

I'm not sure if the other brands still sell them.

If you're in SG, you may have to go down to BEST, COURTS, Harvey Norman, Audio House etc to see if they still sell miniDV vidcams.
I think they still do but I've not been to any of these places recently, so I can't say for sure.

if you can dedicate a day or two to sit down and digitize your miniDV, perhaps you might be better off renting for that particular time u need it?

Rented from that place before but because I have a ton of tapes to digitise so renting also not a feasible solution.
