Slumps and the City.
Slumps still exist in small numbers in Dalian City, China.
Behind the broken house are multi million dollar, sea view apartments.
Wonder how the residents feel looking out of their windows and seeing this?
The owner of this broken house is a scrap collector. Like our karang guni man.

Save the environment, turn off the fridge in winter.
Temperatures in the city is a constant -2˚C down to -15˚C during the months from late
November to early April. You can see meats and seafood being hung outside homes,
I suspect folks do turn off the fridge during winter to conserve energy. Good for them.

The Wall.
During the winter months, almost all outdoor construction work have to stop.
It is physically impossible to work under the cold.

It's all but a show.
Despite the "clean up" over the years leading to the Beijing Olympics,
factories are back near housing estates again. Pouring out all sorts of
pollutants and many believed that they are harmful to the residents nearby.
But the lack of human rights means there is really nothing anyone can do about it.

Happy delivery man.
Smiles are getting harder and harder to come by in developing cities.

"No business lah"
Due to the cold, many folks are keeping their hair longer or wearing beanies all day long,
and beauty salons are seeing a major drop in business during the colder months. Business
only pick up on special days like Christmas, New Year, etc.
