Got mine today and mated with EM5http://s895.photobucket.com/user/b3nji23/media/Olympus12-40mmf28PRO_zps9288618f.jpg.html
There's no need to set the focal length when using the 12-40 on the em10 as the camera recognizes the lensExample of a case when u need to set it manually is when u are using a lens with no electrical contacts like the 15/8 or the 9/8 fisheye Bodycap.
Hi Keith, thanks for the reply. Does it also means that no difference on the S-IS auto or off with this setup?
Sorry to hijack this thread... I am really interested to get a 12-40mm before my next overseas trip, but does anyone know where can I try this with my EM5? I really just want to know how does it fit and feel with the EM5 which is significantly smaller than the EM1 that its designed for.
For comfort, HLD-6 (at least horizontal grip) is needed if mount 12-40 on EM5. Some may use it without.
Try at Oly SG showroom to get the feel.
Thanks for your reply. I didn't know Olympus has a showroom in SG. Do you mean the one at river valley road?
Any 12-40 users encounter the b+w xs-pro filter touching the front lens element? http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3644367
Hmm. I've been using the XS-pro on my 12-40 since the day it left the shop. Let me go check it out
Hi, You manage to check? Is the xs-pro thinner and hence more chance that it will be closer to the front lens element?

Hi,
Just checked. Short answer is No. The glass elements of the XS-Pro 62mm does not touch the glass element of the 12-40mm when mounted hand-tightened tight.
How I tested:
Sprayed lens cleaner all over the 'inside' of the glass element of the filter and mounted the lens onto it with lens front facing downwards. If the glass elements did touch, the 12-40mm's glass would definitely be wet but after turning the screw all the way tight and then removing the lens from the filter, the lens glass was perfectly dry.
