Mic for videography?

Hi all,

Would like to ask for a suggestion of an OK mic out there to use with m4/3 recording..

Any kind recommendation or sharing?

Thanks a lot

Which m4/3 camera are you using? Only the G2 and the GH1 has a 2.5mm microjack. For all other m4/3, you will have to record audio separately with recorders like zoom H2/h4n, Tascam DR-100 or Edirol R-09.

Would have to agree that the Zoom H2 or H4N are quite good

Hi all. A search online shows that Zoom H1 is coming out. Base on the specs, I think it kindof matches H2 in terms of audio recording quality and features. In fact, zoom H1 is better than H2 in the following:
A) uses a single AA batt, last up to 10 hours.
B) from my observation, the LCD screen on H1 seem to be better than H2.
C) Lighter, slimmer & a more stylish design
D) H1 has a Hi-speed USB 2.0 interface to PC rather than USB 1.1 on the H2
E) H1 pricing is cheaper than H2.

Actually I'm about to get the H2 last week, but looking at the specs & price on H1, H1 seem like a better deal. Should I get the H2 now, or wait another 2-3 months for the H1 to arrive in SG?

Anyone can convince me that H2 is better? HAHA.
For my usage, I don't need the XLR phantom power input on H4N. All I need is just a gadget to record high fidelity audio using its internal mic. thx

Are you so sure the internal mic will give you high fidelity ?

yeah...as long as it can record above 48khz uncompressed wav, it's considered hi-fi....who cares what the source is... :D
