hi guys, which do you prefer to use? a handheld meter or a hotshoe meter?
any advantages or disadvantages in any of them? i am considering minolta meter or the VCII meter..

I would suggest the VC meter if you're doing street photog...much easier and less cumbersome than a handheld..but the handheld has the advantage of incident metering.
 

The size of the VC II meter is next to nothing... while the size of a hand held meter is the size of another camera. :bsmilie:
 

Both have pro and cons. I use a minolta meter for flash, incident and spot metering..

Sometimes I wish had brought the VC meter from Chiif fei when things gets too pack in the bag.
 

I just started to use the monster sized Sekonic 758D. It's even bigger than the damn camera!

But I find I'm getting more accurate exposures (most of the time at least) with it than with the inbuilt meter on my RFs when I'm working with slides.
