Maybe should be renamed Headless Merlion?

It is a sign that god of lightning does not like Merlion.

It is a sign that god of lightning does not like Merlion.

For those who want to see a sign / who need to see a sign it might be one. For others it's nothing but a weather phenomenon based on some physics and electricity...
If there were a god of lightning then Singapore seems to be his home or one of the favourite places to hang out :bsmilie:

transformer??? :bsmilie:

Marlion... Vomit water and swim out!!!

Or maybe it's a combined Transformer already, like Devastator? So it'll split and become a Lion and a fish...

Maybe engage kucing kurap Feng Shui master.

All the Feng Shui shifting kena problems.

Singapore has plenty of lightnings and it is not surprising that this happened.

Anyway, they probably should install more effective lightning arrestors on nearby buildings moving forward.

its a small incident. as for the omen, well, we dont need this as a sign. the bad stuff are already happening and large banks had already saw it coming before selling their shares at a steal

probably, someone would be putting up notices / statements statibg that the area around the merlion is fast (against lughtning strikes) ...

the Merlion is there for a purpose....

by striking the Merlion...the ones in charge upstairs are sending clear signs that SG is going to get zapped real bad....

all equipment manufacturers must take note...esp that one which just increased prices for lenses.....

So how? I want to take pictures leh. Is it fixed liao? Still can spray boh?

only the back of the head kenna....mouth still as wide and spewing...;)

Contractors engaged to repair Merlion
By Cheryl Frois, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 01 March 2009 1747 hrs

SINGAPORE : Contractors have been engaged to repair the Singapore Merlion after it was struck by lightning on Saturday.

For now, the public is not allowed access to the 36-year-old tourism icon at the mouth of the Singapore River.

Temporary barricades have been erected for safety reasons.

Despite this, tourists and locals are still eagerly snapping pictures from afar.

When Channel NewsAsia last visited the structure on Sunday, water was still flowing from sculpture's mouth.

Debris from parts of the statue's head that fell off after lightning struck were cleared on Saturday night.

No one was injured.

The Singapore Tourism Board said it is waiting for a full assessment from contractors before deciding when to allow public access to the statue, and whether to erect a lightning conductor to prevent a repeat incident. - CNA/ms

May be a gd thing leh...

Was it last week when whole Spore saw this rainbow across the island?
And now...the Merlion has been 'AWAKEN!!!'....

And it's now CAGED UP....

There's no information on the ground about the repair of the Merlion for the benefit of the tourists.

I overheard an European tourist asking where is the Merlion until he say the merlion plaque and then saw the blue cladded scaffolding.

The damage is quite extensive on top of the head of the Merlion.

Two times, the Feng Shui master shifting goes south.
