memories on tv problem *urgent*

hey all..i recent was tasked 2 do a photoslide..&i completed everything without much problems or obstacles until i wanted to make it into a mpeg file(hoping i cld view it on most comps).. but i cant..any idea y?? it wrks on my comp..but not any other..i tired converting 2 .avi but it cant.. i need help cuz e slides need 2 be screened by fri..

Open up the project again..
Export as AVI instead of MPEG.
And use any burner software and burn it as DVD. not as DATA..

If you export as a WMV file it should play on most PCs, unless they have very old version of Media Player.

AVI is not a format, so you won't know whether it will play or not unless you specify an AVI with a very common codec that everybody will have on their PC. But those codecs tend to be very old and low quality, that's why I suggest WMV.

WMV is very compressed and has long GOP. some low end computers cannot play it properly. I would suggest uncompressed microsoft avi though the file size is very big

Uncompressed? I think that is not a good idea. Those low end computers will not have fast enough hard disk to play uncompressed. And the file size is not very big, it is very H-U-G-E!

If WMV is really not suitable, one of the easiest formats for PCs to play is MPEG1. The quality can be reasonable for SD if you set the data rate to 3 or 4 Mbps.

i'm in a SAF camp now.. so which means..i cant dl or install anything programmes..&i cant find any online sites tt support .ptv file conversion... i need it by tonight..

MOT can burn the video directly to disk right..? You can output as VCD or DVD disk and confirm it'll be playable by DVD players, and most computers that can play VCD or DVD.

If no disk writer drive, then can choose output as "create video files only". The video file will be VCD or DVD compliance. If the target computer cannot play the files, that means the target computer cannot play any VCD or DVD disk, and basically the problem is with the target computer not being able to play the file, and not because the video is of some ulu format.

Edit: For maximum compatibility, when you output the video, make sure the format is set to "VCD". This will output the file to mpeg1 video, which windows media player should be able to play. Maybe you have set the format to DVD, that's why most computer can't play it because not many computers can play DVD videos ( .mpg or .vob ). Not sure which version you're using. but version 2 doesn't support DVD video by itself, so there shouldn't be such problems in the first place.

thanks all for ur help.. tho it wasnt successful..but i still appreciate all e posts frm every1.. some1 shld recommend more programmes into e SAF system structure if they shld wana go more IT based.. my camp's like using PS7!!! wth..:bsmilie::bsmilie:

ps7 does the job la. At least they did not just provide u with GIMP in their open source way of life.
