We actually stayed pretty near the harbour area, which was much like the nerve center of most of the shopping and attractions.
Akershus Fortress is not too far a walk, and so is the busy Karl Johans street.

Gamle Bergen / Old Bergen Museum , Stitch of 3
Take in the plentiful rain and wind, I was at a small hill with pavilion opposite.
While asking for directions, we passed by an old man walking 4 little dogs who was so very apologetic for the bad weather in Bergen!

Steep cobbled streets, densely packed wooden houses recreated from since 18th century. While labelled a museum, it is an open air attraction of revived long-ago norwegian private homes to cafes and shops in an idyllic locale. Much more activities and guided tours in summer, it was a *dead town* when we were there. The only other group of visitor was a family + children in raincoats armed with bread crumbs to feed ducks and gulls.

Our To Søstre Guesthouse was more than a kilometre drive.
Probably would have been a great walk along the harbour if weather was more permitting.

Our *guide* in Gamle Bergen
After a few pats, she kept sticking around us whenever we walked within Gamle Bergen, in the rain.

An actor and an actress in Victorian costumes rehearsing by the ledge. Oh well too small to see :bsmilie:

Henningsvær, Lofoten in the evening.

A small traditional fishing village, it is one of the last to be bridged and connected within Lofoten, thus retaining much of its traditional flavoured buildings of the more yester-times.

Another shot taken at Å i Lofoten. We climbed up the snow covered hill behind the southern parts of Å in the evening.
