I received a few PMs from a few fellow RF-ers agreeing to lend me their gears while I acquire my next few over some time. Big thank you. But your gears all damn expensive la, dare not touch
I'll prob shop around for a used Zeiss body or Hexar again

ZoomP said:Sorry to hear about your loss bro. Let me know how i can help. Yeah, u should make a police report and try to claim against your travel insurance.
AlvinOMG said:Yeah suggest you make a police report and claim from your travel insurance

CopperS said:Travel insurances won't refund you everything unless you get a quote on your gear from a shop. I did the same thing once. But it's for a M4 repair job. Some guy bumped into me & I dropped my camera in Beijing Forbidden Palace. NTUC was nice enough to foot the bill of all repairs by Schmidt. How they pacify every claim is anybody's guess especially if people start abusing the system.

It's a good excuse for you to get a Leica ! erm M7 ?? haha
Yep, I do have insurance for travels. So a local police report here in SIN is alright?
Also, I do not have a receipt for my Hexar, how do I go about explaining its value? Lens also no receipt lei...... Jia lat....
Gary, feel sorry for your loss...well...if you look at it from another angl...go get yourself another new camera and lens...have a change...try new stuff...venture to new era...
Just let me know, I can lend you a rangefinder camera and lens during this time of distress...
Very sorry to hear of your misfortune; can feel your sense of loss. I had some stuff stolen from me in Chongqing some years ago. I made a local police report and was able to make insurance claims for the stolen items. Fortunately, I also kept most of the the receipts. Best check with your insurance company to see if a SIN report would suffice. I think they would in all likelihood require a China police report.
Since then, I've never let my guard down, even in the better hotels. The pickpockets usually work in teams of three; in the cities they like to hang around the overhead bridges to spot potential victims.
If I need to carry my passport with me, I make sure it's secure. Otherwise I lock it up in the hotel safe together with some spare cash and spare credit card.
