Me and my Yashica GSN

You might still be able to retrieve the first 20+ shots.
That is if you closed the back quickly, and not stare at the film haha.

It should only have exposed about 5+ shots.

Yah. That's what I did.

I meant I stared at it.

Darn it.

Haha we all stare at it!
The question is how long ?

If 1-2 seconds, you might stil be able to salvage most of the shots except for maybe the last 5.
Longer than that, you should still be able to get half the roll, if the light didn't hit the roll, then you might be able to get most of it still.

Up to you if the development cost is worth it. For me i would just give it a go.

Then the anticipation of seeing the result would be greater !:sweatsm:

Sigh. I got so upset I yank out the roll and threw it in the dustbin. Guess its been lying out in the open for the last 5 hours now. Hehhe.

But next time will do better. Now manage to finished a roll with my zorki 4. really look forward with anticipation. Hehe.

Most rolls can accommodate 37-38 shots if you are careful with where you start and end. Enjoy your camera.

Thanks. Understand can roll in dark room but even with sunlight I got problem loading. Haha.

Despite being more careful this time, I snapped my film again. Arghhh. This time, knowing how it feels, I just left it and brought it to triple d. Damn. Maybe should send it to cla for lubrication too. Darn.

I think you shouldnt force it when the **** thingy is tight . Most of the time it means the roll has been used up. So just push the **** thingy back into place and then press the rewind button thingy below and wind back the film. I would rather lose a few shots than to waste a whole role of film.

Strange, I didn't have this problem before. I usually get to shoot 2 more frames after I reach the 36 mark on the frame counter.

Yah.... I also dunno .... Well.. practice makes perfect.. try and try and try and try again ...

Here's the roll that snapped on me. Arghhhhh !!!!…. Well, this time, I left it there, and brought it to Triple D Minilab Center to take it out for me. Hey .. I learned right ?

Here are some of my youngest

Apologies on the constant family shoots but been busy during office hours to attempt street. Trying to squeeze some time during lunch hours this week to see if I can catch anything.

Have one more roll with Triple D. Can't wait to view it.

Quite silly of me... I tend to visit the film shops with one roll after another. I don't consolidate my rolls and develop at one go. Just can't wait to view the final result. I think that to me is what keeps me coming back to film. The unknowing results, and the final grainy outcome. Just bring the romance of film out. Never appreciated it before until i tried... guess I'm hooked now.

hi guys

i have just gotten a yashica gsn too. Problem is, the battery provided is not working. Prob dead...
Is there a place in Singapore that sells the battery, or adapters? Am planning to bring my camera to P&G tomorrow. Do they have the batteries/adapters there?

thanks in advance for the advice.

Yah. Follow what riotbmx says it'll sure to work.if it doesnt, the wires corroded. You might have to then bring to p&g

thanks, riotbmx and crysmeth. Hope it's just a battery problem! :)

I also jus got a yashica gsn. But i think i have a problem with loading film. After laoding in d film and winding the lever, the spool on the far right seems to not fully turn. I can physically turn the spool on the far right. Is this normal? And sry for hijacking :)

I followed everything but it seems like the spools on the right do not turn at the same ratio. The one on the far right seems to be lagging by half a turn. Anyway, should i get it checked? If so, where?

You did insert in the film into your fight spool right? At the bottom there's a slit for you to insert fully.

So long as when you load snap and reload, both spools turns, think you are fine. Try one roll first to test out.

You may send to p&g

I tried a roll already and half of it were unexposed. The ones tht were exposed, some of it were overlapped. And yes, i did insert the film lead into the slit. I guess i would be visiting p&g soon...
