I guess u guys must be quite sick of all the Marina City Park pics already ... But, I've never shot there before and since I passed by area yesterday, I decided to go for a quick shoot ;p

Here's a few shots to share. I used a Nikkor 18-200 VR with a Cokin P007 filter. Please give me your frank comments. Thanks in advance :)

Don't worry, I won't cry ... If my pics are perfect, I won't be posting them here for comments. So do u have any constructive comments to help me improve? If not, please do not disrupt the friendly and helpful culture of this forum :)

this kind of picture you dont need a 18-200 VR lens. a normal P/S can create better picture than the above hahahahahah

Thanks, hotdrive, u're the first to give a friendly comment. I appreciate it.

For people viewing this, it is possible to give critical comments in a friendly way, to help someone to improve. I'm always open to constructive criticism :)

one comment i would like to give is, these shots(2 & 3) at this kind of angle has been shot before thus it appear normal..
perhaps u might wanna try shooting at some more different angles such as from top, or prone down etc..
For shot 1 it works for me as being the seeker title.. maybe a tighter crop would be nicer?

btw, how is this new toy? is the sharpness of this lens good throughout the focal length?

Hi wiz23,

Nice series. Like the blue sky and white clouds effect in #1 especially.
Just like to find out, did you do your White Balance using a Hoya R72 or a Cokin P007?

I like the pictures. Nice sky, clouds. For #1 I thot that if the statue is place a little to the right, in the space between the 2 clump of trees, it may be more balanced.

Also, no point saying bad, bad, but cannot tell why.:nono:

In one of your posts you said that you bought a Hoya R72 filter for $50/-, when someone was trying to sell his for the same price. So I take it that you shoot IR also.

Hi,

I like #1 but I think it would be better if the facial features can be more clear/bright.
#2 seems abit too articificial, I wonder is its caused by photoshop.

I am no expert so I don't have suggestion on how to improve the shots.

Just my humble comments, Regards :)

Hi there,

The threadstarter is not asking for praise but for comments on his shots and he can improve it. If you think that the shot is bad, please give the threadstarter where and how can he do better next time.

Learn to respect others first then you will gain the respect yourself.

Your "comments" are noted yet again.

Like your #2 and #3 shots,

#1, personal perference is not to crop the bottom in this manner. either you show more of the stand or completely crop it off.
