List of item

2 NIKON EN-EL3 Batteries bought from B&H
6 AA- Energizer Ni-MH Rechargeable bought from K-Mart
You remove the chamber door from the battery chamber.
The battery grip has a very neat idea by inserting the chamber door to the side to the of battery grip so you wont lose it.
Than after that installing the grip is so easy, Just insert the battery grip into the battery chamber than fastened the attach/detach knob. Everything could be done in 1 minutes.
If you want to use the vertical shutter release you just need to attach
The cable supplied again its not difficult just plug one end to the base and stick the other end using The supplied double sided tape (you can detach it easily as well).
Me and my friend tested it and my friend (the owner) prefer to use the 6 AA ni-MH batteries. Not only its cheap its surprisingly last very long.
We run testing of shooting in JPG and we shoot more than 500 times and the indicator still show full. Well we kinda tired shooting more than 500 times over and over again
And actually by using the 6AA Ni-MH batteries it feels more stabilized.
In regards of color well it doesnt really match but its very close.
The battery grip made from Plastic, its very lightweight, HOWEVER after you put the 6 AA batteries and attach it to the camera it surprisingly feel sturdy and add more stability to the camera.
And We would not recommend this since I use Canon camera I try to insert 2 BP511 battery and it WORKS. But we removed it straight away just incase of the voltage it may destroy the camera. Test it AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Final Word,
Sturdy, extra grip on the hand, stable and the battery definitely last longer
You dont need to use Nikon EN-EL3 batteries instead you can use normal AA NI-MH Batteries. The downside before we install it the battery grip look cheap (because of the light Weight and plastic), HOWEVER after we attached it to the camera it looks GOOD and Very Stable. It fits Perfectly
And also the vertical release cable/wire kinda annoying but than again its not JENIS fault, its NIKON fault for not producing better access/design for more expandability.
Bottom line 8.5 for feature and value.
Well the way We see it Its better to have JENIS Grip which is cheaper and more ergonomics rather than to keep waiting and waiting for more expensive from harbortronics who keep having to Backorder their stock and need to make adjustment which will void the warranty.
