I think he has got an issue here because he's using a prosumer, which MIGHT not have bulb mode or shutter release cable (I'm not too sure thou). And also, his camera's max f-stop is f/8, which is kinda easy to be overexposed.

Time to save up for an DSLR maybe? :)

haha yea... no bulb... no shutter release cable...
ok... will try to make the best out of it

about the 3 to 6sec interval where i cover with blackcard... the sensor will still try to capture watever possible... and since its black... it sort of darken the original image capture at the front 2 sec... this is wat i sort of found out when try to take with blackcard in my lighted room... different from normal 2sec
but my guess is tat it will not help when come to overexpose

Hmm, thats strange. What is captured in your sensor in the first 2 seconds should not be darkened by the black card subsequently.

To TS, sorry to lead your thread OT. I think I better stop here.

edit made...

Didn't realize there were alr 3 pages.....(yes, for the long processing time, it was because of long exposure noise reduction)

Cheers

Can try to use a ND filter.... since the F-stop is max at F8, also can try to reduce its exposure and even lower down his iso to maybe 50 if he has...
