Replaced with the 18-55mm.

wat noise reduction software?

I have no idea what he is referring to but I can let you know that 'neat image' is doing a very good job in noise reduction. I personally prefer it more than 'noise ninja', which is another application for noise removal/reduction.

Yes but with af motor which should be for af in movie...:)

I would prefer a longer zoom or larger aperture like the Nikon's kit lens.

Hahahaha galdor mount it on the snipper gun hehheheeheheh:bsmilie:

One of my overseas friends overheard his dealer mentioning likely within 2weeks the announcement of 2 new DSLR's. Note that this is rumoured only but his dealer was similar informed on the recent releases from Canon and Nikon and was quite right about that.

Well, let's wait and see.

Interesting... see if I regret plumping for the A900... I was hoping for a full-frame smaller lower res DSLR...

So was I but I strongly doubt whether Sony will throw in another FF at this point. Not refering to their future names, I suggest it's something like an A400 and A800. At least one of the camera is the proposed successor of the A700.

Again, rumours and my opinion. We shall see, as long as it comes fast. Looking at what the competition delivered recently, I can only say that the rumour itself is realistic. Sony has to make a move fast, I think we all agree on that.

It won't. The A900 is already one of the cheapest full-frame bodies out there.

may I ask how does the performance of the SAL55200 fare? I am a beginner A200 user. Some bros have recommended the "beercan" to me but as I do research on the web, some review sites say 55-200mm is a pretty good telephoto zoom lens and cheaper alternative.

As you can see, it's not bad for a cheap walkabout lens.
