Manfrotto MHXPOR-BHQ2 pan knob problem

Hi Guys,

I have a 055 tripod and head thats been used by some photographers. I have just had one photographer complain about the wobble on the pan.

I have discovered my MHXPOR-BHQ2 is unthreading. and no not from the spirit level head mount tripod. But on the head itself, between the red bezel and the black remaining head. once the knob is released it unthreads instead of spinning, causing wobble as the thread unwinds..

I have tried to research how the quick release works to no avail.

Any info would be great.

Don't understand your description and it's hard to tell from the exploded drawing of the spares page.
something is worn out so check it physically.
