I've been wanting to get this shot for over 3 years!

HDRi merged from 5 images as well as manually blended parts of the exposures.

so broken and lovely

where's this? :D

We should get together and do a shoot here!

Location - near the Ginger Garden section of the Botanic Gardens, there is an exit near the Coach drop-off point, turn left when you exit, walk down the road until you see some carpark lots, the gate should be near the turn area.

hahaha okay just kidding. i shall check out the location soon :)

R - I'm trying to copy your processing - you have the vintage look down perfectly.

A classic hum-drum photo that was redeemed through photomatix.

Have to admit I really like this one. I used the portrait ebook by this master along side Vincent Versaces lighting techniques in PS. It was taken outside at the Sg Zoo (what else is there to do on CNY).

Impressive collection of work you have here Amanda.

This is a wonderful capture and processing. Thanks for sharing the workflow.

I definately recommend the ebook. On first reading I was like, phaw I know all this, but after I put it into an action I can see how minimilist it can be - which is perfect for portraits.

Also it starts with a very good section on how to set up PS for a professional workflow.

thanks Mandy

Hi! How do you achieve such dreamy picture? Was it by control of lighting during the phototaking process, or by post-processing? :) Would love to consult you :)

It was an accident and I've tried, unsuccessfully, to replicate it on the last photo posted.

I used 'match or replace colour' on to a new layer which duplicated the luminosity of the photo.

You can also try the brightness / contrast filter to reduce the contrast.

Another idea is to use solid colour layers set on screen, opacity 10 - 50% butter yellow and a solid colour fill layer on multiply, opacity 10-50% navy blue.

In actual fact, the photo is white on white with side lit afternoon light which provides the luminosity and soft brightness & nothing in photoshop can generate natural lighting!

thanks Mandy

This is a fantastic photo?

I am curious, since you are a teacher (and in education) why do you still use CS2 when CS4 is available so cheaply in Singapore?

loving the istana woodneuk shots! :)
