Manchester United X - The Legacy continues: 4 down 2 to go!

If they continued to play like that this season will end up empty handed!:sweatsm::devil:

Alamak.... why does Man Utd have to make things difficult for themselves... :(

I was up watching the second half, it was end-to-end stuff but the second Porto goal was bad... poor marking. Porto is supposedly the easiest of the Quarter Final draws, and yet we end up 'only' with a draw and gave away 2 away goals. Now it's an uphill task...

An interesting trivia (and I stand to be corrected)- in my own mental history, whichever team that beat Man Utd in the Quarter Finals or Semi Finals ends up the eventual winner of the Champions League. :o

I believe you are correct....most of the time it happens. The next UCL game sure brings back memories of 1999...almost same sort of situation. Hope '99 history will repeat itself again!

Did a little bit of research from the time this new Champions League format first started....

2009 ???
2008 Man Utd winner
2007 AC Milan winner - Beat Man Utd in the semi Final
2006 Barcelona winner - Man Utd didn't even get past the group stages :embrass:
2005 Liverpool winner - AC Milan beat Man Utd in the last 16, but lost to Liverpool in the Finals
2004 FC Porto winner - Beat Man Utd in the last 16
2003 AC Milan winner - Real Madrid beat Man Utd in the Quarter Finals, but lost to Juventus in the Semi-Finals
2002 Real Madrid winner - Leverkusen beat Man Utd in the Semi Finals, but lost to Real Madrid in the Finals
2001 Bayern Munich winner - Beat Man Utd in the Quarter Finals
2000 Real Madrid winner - Beat Man Utd in the Quarter Finals
1999 Man Utd winner
1998 Real Madrid winner - Monaco beat Man Utd in the Quater Finals, lost to Juventus in the Semi Finals, but lost to Real Madrid eventually
1997 Brussia Dortmund winner - Beat Man Utd in the Semi Finals

12 seasons so far, and 5 out of 10 times (the other 2 times, Man Utd wins), whoever beat Man Utd wins the Champions League... hmmm...let's hope the history of the 2004 season will not repeat itself.

Wah quite a disjointed performance. So many passes went stray and gave away possession and a cheap goal. They either got some mindset problems or are tired. I think Fergie also blaffled by the players.

Chelskis bt Liverpoo 3 -1

I have mixed feelings. I want both these 2 teams to wear themselves out over the 2 legs so that they be jaded over the league game.

If Liverpoo advances to semi Lafa cant concentrate on league game but now he may just buang the return leg at Bridge to cocentrate on the league.

I am very disappointed with ther performances recently.

They can say its fatigue, injuries, suspensions bla bla..

But its Man Utd, the winning mentality should always be there, fight to the last.

None of our players show the drive and the spirit to bunce back from defeat,

That itself, is worrying

They have beaten them at stamford bridge before so they may just give it a final push!

I think its our defence that is leaking!

other than having gary nehnehville......i think the defence is good.....

the weakest link is definitely the midfield.....

Players like Owen Hargreaves, Anderson are definitely sorely missed!

I think its gotta do with fitness and the mentality. Ever since the easy 2-0 over Inter, the team has been taking things very easily. Dunno what happened. Either they are tired or are complacent. Against Porto, lost of passes went stray and the midfield din do very well. Carrick was asleep while Fletcher wasn't himself. Ronaldo was rubbish and that leaves Scholes and Park to pick up the pieces.

Defence also leaking. Seems like suddenly, Rio decides to switch off or no form.

Tomorrow 's game starts at 10pm. Thank goodness for the sane hours.

Hope Newcastle can secure a pt tomorrow. Also have to watch for Chelskis. Apart from Spurs game, they havent done anything wrong

Not early kick-off, same time in UK, but for some strange reasons, certain time of the year, we're 7 hours ahead instead of 8 hours... daylight savings they call it. :dunno:

It has been a while since I wore my black Man Utd jersey. Ironny is red is not my fav color.

This is how my jersery looks like :
