Everyone knows Man Utd got $$$ to spend, so sure take the chance to tok carrot head. Man Utd not like Liv, kenna tok carrot head already for Glen Johnson and still happy with it. :bsmilie:

I doubt it's a case of not spending the money because they can afford not to.
I reckon it's more a case of "why should we get a player who has made it quite explicit that he would only join Real Madrid and nobody else" ?
that means even if, hypothetically speaking, Ribery does come to Man Utd, one can't help but wonder did he choose them as a second alternative to Real? and if so, would he go flying to Real in a season's time when Real comes knocking on the door?
the same thing can be said for David Villa as well.

Fergie said he doesn't want to over pay for players. He said he did bid 35m euros for Benzema but RM offered more, so he din follow up. That was the same for Tevez, Fergie dun think Tevez is worth 25m, so no deal was done. He also said 26m pounds for Ribery is too much cos of his age! He also said he is happy with the current squad. I think Kiko is doing well, thats why he is confident. So he ruled out more signings but David Gill said Man Utd will sign players when a good deal comes along.
