Managing a torch and camera rig simultaneously

Hi,

I carry a torch and the camera rig during night dives. I was wondering how people are managing the torch and camera rig at the same time. Do you shine your torch at the subject until you get close and turn off the torch and let go of it (lanyard attached to wrist), before you start using the focus light to shoot?

If there are any easier ways to go about managing a torch and camera, please share!

Hi,

It really depends on your shooting objects and set up. If you can attached the torch to the camera it can both work as a dive light and focus light.

As night dives are usually dark u will need some light for your camera to focus on.
