All these pictures are taken with just a Nikon Coolpix 5900 and no additional strobes in Manado. Taken in Sept 2005. Please do not use the photos in other places without my knowlege k, I left out watermarks and stuff so u guys can see the whole pic.

Thats a juvenile mantis shrimp that we found hiding under a fire coral. Took lots of coaxing for it to come out to play with us. BTW, it is a "smasher" mantis, so i was pretty afraid to go too close to take the pix.

This is a Crinoid Shrimp that we found hiding in a feather star. Good camo sia!

Sorry, im not very good with the resizing part and so the 56k-ers please bear with me.

Give me some feedback on the pictures and i will post more later when i get back from school!

you probably have to shoot further away and then crop your pics. The internal flash is not hitting your subjects correctly.

I think you do need to resize the photo to smaller size like 600pixel of the long side. Maybe you can tell us the program you are using and we can let you know the steps to resize. It is actually quite easy.

I like the colour of the mantis shrimp.

The frogfish is so small. Must be difficult to spot and shoot. But with a simple PnS camera will always have the problem of lighting at the top with macro subject. Also they look out of focus and it maybe due to going too close, to get the biggest subject but below the minimum focusable distance of 4cm.

Not bad for first try. Do show more.
