Manchester United squad taking shape

Manchester United's squad is starting to take shape ahead of the 2015/16 season with more changes expected as the big kick-off approaches.

There are 35 senior players in Louis van Gaal's party at the moment, although several youngsters could be set to travel on Tour 2015, presented by Aon, in order to push for possible promotion into the boss' first-team plans.

Nine players' loans away from the club have expired – namely Sam Johnstone, Reece James, Saidy Janko, Guillermo Varela, Jesse Lingard, Nani, Angelo Henriquez, Javier Hernandez and Will Keane.

Memphis Depay is currently the only new addition following his move from PSV Eindhoven but there is still a wealth of options at van Gaal's disposal as the Reds prepare to make their way back for pre-season training.

Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Sam Johnstone, Anders Lindegaard, Victor Valdes.

Defenders: Tyler Blackett, Jonny Evans, Reece James, Saidy Janko, Phil Jones, Paddy McNair, Rafael, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia, Guillermo Varela.

Midfielders: Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Memphis Depay, Angel Di Maria, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Adnan Januzaj, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nani, Andreas Pereira, Nick Powell, Ashley Young.

Strikers: Angelo Henriquez, Javier Hernandez, Will Keane, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, James Wilson.

MANCHESTER UNITED RELEASE FIVE PLAYERS

Manchester United are releasing five players this summer, including Tom Cleverley who has already agreed to join Everton on 1 July, after the club's retained list was submitted to the FA Premier League.

Goalkeeper Ben Amos is also leaving the club after making seven senior appearances for the Reds. The 25-year-old spent time with Bolton Wanderers on a loan basis last season and enjoyed seven years as a professional at Old Trafford.

Under-21 captain Tom Thorpe, who lifted numerous trophies at youth level during his stay at the club, is free to move on after making more appearances than any of his colleagues for Warren Joyce's title-winning side last term.

Fellow defenders Callum Evans and Ryan McConnell, who were also part of the Under-21 squad, are others to be heading to pastures new over the course of the summer.

Everybody at United would like to wish all five players the very best of luck with their future careers

All the best to the 5

Di Maria injured and Rojo also on the losing side as Henriquez's Chile win Copa America

Angel Di Maria was injured and Marcos Rojo was also on the receiving end of a shock result in the Copa America final - but there was joy for fellow Manchester United player Angelo Henriquez who featured for the winning team Chile.

Argentina's Bridesmaid fate since World Cup

Rumour have it that RVP will be leaving ...

and Nani has just landed in Turkey for his medical at Fenerbahce...

Watched the interview with Memphis. He sounds very confident of his own ability.

Abit arrogant which I think is good for the team.

Depay £23m + Darmian £13m + Schweinsteiger £14m = £50m.

Seems like we got rather good deals!

With RvP leaving.. We still need a striker + CB..

Ramos?..

We have Rooney as striker liao no need RvP replacement unless LVG dont want chicharito as sub player

I dun think he fancies Little Pea..
I have this feeling he is gonna give Wilson a chance.. But in order to challenge for titles we need at least 4 strikers? To rely on Rooney, Wilson and Chicharito is not enough
