Now to win at Standford Bridge as their recent form is like.......

The recent few games is what I've been used to seeing United play, great attacking football with fluid movement. Hope they will maintain the form against Chelsea next week.

Let's see how much United can step up their game against Chelsea. Should be a good measure of their consistency to see whether they have really turned the table in recent weeks.

25 mins to go

United XI: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, McNair, Shaw, Mata, Rooney, Herrera, Young, Fellaini, Falcao

United subs: Valdes, Blackett, Rafael, Di Maria, Januzaj, Pereira, van Persie

Strong bench

This match will be the test whether the boys have really gel under Van Gaal.

10 mins - A lively start at Stamford Bridge. United are enjoying good possession and Rooney had the best early chance. Positive stuff

70% possession and still lose.... :-(

Big boys win big games :) I guess its better to have lost like that than to have been annihilated at Stamford Bridge. There is still hope!!!

The chances that we created but just did not score is disappointed but we surpassed our expectations for such a game. Chelsea's Hazard did score a brilliant and fantastic goal individually, the acute angle and the pace and decisiveness just outstanding. We can take home that we did very good in our play. With continued improving, we can win all our remaining games and secured 2nd place. If Chelsea faltered in the last 5 games, we can still mathematically and very optimistic be title holders. Nothing is impossible. Keep it up. MU all the way.

Smalling signs a new contract! I wish there would be more stability in the squad - less transfers in/out during the season. Looking at past examples of United teams, the teams that did well had generally been playing together for quite a while. New signings are limited to one or two which helps to limit the amount of 'getting used to' for everyone.

Their current standard of play can also be attributed to everyone having taken quite a while to settle down, get used to the new coaching and new team mates. If they dont ship too many players out this offseason, I will be even more optimistic for the new season.
