Great strategy used by LVG which assigned only one defender to fight against the visitor -- David De Gea (the god of match):devil::devil:

Won 3-0, 3 point and 3rd placed...Nice!

Congratulations. We beaten Liverpool and our confidence are fantastically high especially goalkeeper, nothing can get pass him tonight. Excellent job, he deserved the Man of the Match 1000 times over. Not forgetting the goals scorers. Its the linesman call and referee decision although it should be offside for our 2nd goal. But who cares, we got the third goal and deserve our win. To all MU players, Keep it up. With this form and luck, we surely get back to European Champions League 2015-2016. GO MU GO GO GO.

The commentator summed it very well, your team is not playing well, but you are 3-0 up, and the man of the match is your goalkeeper.

That's the current state of affairs.

Great game. IMO both teams played well. The difference is indeed De Gea.

LVG after UTD win : we need to play better.
Rodgers: we played really well and controlled the game and that reminds us of David moyes ... LOL...

9 months ago we lost 3-0 ... what a diff!

Have lost to Chelsea..Man City...so this is a very important win for morale and confident boosting....Liverpool played OK and Man U was as good if not better....the different is the quality of the player on the field....the Stars shined....Rooney, Mata, RVP and De Gea....all these heavy weight provided the cutting edge...as for Liverpool...Balo....Gerrard are mostly anonymous and left Sterling to do the lone job...he simply does not have the same quality like MU strikers.....so 3-0 is the price they paid for not able to replace Suarez

Btw Phil Jones left the match mid or near the end of 2nd half (And replaced by Paddy McNair).

I hope he's not injured?

Manchester Utd: Ander Herrera named in match-fixing probe

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is one of 41 players, coaches and directors named in a match-fixing investigation in Spain.
Prosecutors allege almost one million Euros was used to pay Levante players to lose their match against Zaragoza at the end of the 2010-11 season.
Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero is also among those named by prosecutor Alejandro Luzon.
The BBC has asked Herrera's agent for a response.
A Swansea spokesman said: "We have had no contact... regarding this matter."
Prosecutor Luzon filed the case at a court in Valencia on Monday.
The court document alleges Herrera was one of 10 people who withdrew tens of thousands of Euros funded by Zaragoza in order to pay bribes.
The 25-year-old left Zaragoza to join his home-town club Athletic Bilbao in August 2011, before signing for United in June 2014.

Kelong!

Kelong in Italy, Kelong in Spain......I am not a bit surprise. How about in British Premier League? Anyone knows when was the last incident of this kind happening in it? I am just referring to English Premier League and not any other leagues.

Van Gaal: No choice but to rotate

Manchester United MANAGER Louis van Gaal expects it will be necessary to rotate his squad during the Christmas run of fixtures, even if that will be problematic because of injuries.

After Saturday's trip to Aston Villa, the Reds face four games in 10 days, beginning with Newcastle on Boxing Day and ending with the FA Cup tie at Yeovil on 4 January.

Van Gaal is new to the Barclays Premier League’s congested schedule at this time of year but says rest and rotation are the only ways to DEAL with it, provided he has enough players at his disposal.

The Dutchman told MUTV: "It [rotation] is probably a solution for that problem, because a lot of matches in so few days is, in my opinion, ridiculous.

"That is why I think I have to rotate, but then the players have to be fit and not every player is fit with us."

Asked if he had a special programme to MANAGE the load, the boss continued: "Rest, only rest – that is what we shall do.

"We have to play these two matches [Newcastle on 26 December and Tottenham on 28 December] and that is normal in the Premier League. I cannot change that."

Van Gaal has already used Under-21s fixtures to give valuable match practice to players who are returning to fitness, notably Michael Carrick and Jonny Evans. But what about when there are no reserve games?

"You have to train," he said. "You can simulate the matches but it is more difficult; it takes more time and it is better to play matches in the second team. But also, I give them minutes in the first-team squad in the Premier League."

The versatility of several players has been vital to MANAGING the injury absences in the team this season. Antonio Valencia has played across midfield and in defence, while Wayne Rooney featured in midfield against Liverpool.

Asked if the captain would take up that deeper role more often in FUTURE, van Gaal replied: "It is dependable on how the balance in the team is. I need balance in the team. We have won six times in a row and that is because of the balance, I think.

"I don’t know if I shall use him always because it is also dependable on the form of the strikers, because he is a very good striker.

"I can use him in different positions and I like that because I like multifunctional players. I normally BUY more multifunctional players than specialist."

Rotation is not new to LVG been doing since day 1

Game start , lets go 3 points !!!

We're under way at Villa Park, as United (playing in white today) search for a seventh consecutive win.

18 min- Goal. Villa 1 United 0. The home side take the lead against the run of play with a curling shot by Christian Benteke.

With 70+% of possession still concede
