Man Utd XIV : New Manager New ERA

After both Chelsea and Liverpool lost their FA cup games, it will be uphill tasks for us to achieve the illusive 4th Champion League spot as these clubs will consolidate their EPL positions with no more FA cup involvement. Let's hope we make it for Europa next year. At least some European soocer participation is crucial for our squad re-building process. Better still if we win the Champion League this season, a dream but not an impossible possibility. DM and his gang of coaches know it too well to miss the opportunity. A good break training will follow by re-juvenation of team spirits and winning mentality. GO MU GO!

After 10days break its

PALACE V MAN UTD
23 February, 2014 1:30:00 am.

Hope the 10days is good for the players.

And of course:
Wayne Rooney has committed his future to Manchester United by signing a four-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until June 2019. Wayne will also become a club ambassador when he retires from the game.

Rooney extends contract

I think the club has over-valued Rooney's contract. He is not worth that sum of money, just so that he can break one of the longest MU record? He has not scored more than 15 goals a season in the last 3 years. The kind of money he receives per week versus his goals and contribution to MU success this season is utterly unjustifiable. Only in English clubs they do such a thing. I sincerely hope that my view is wrong, he should be sold when he still got some sale value. Most likely he will be captain too going forward. IMO Rooney is not the stabilizing factor in our current dismay and inconsistent performances, if you know what I mean. I strongly disagree this extension to his contract. With that kind of money, we can source for at least 2-3 more enterprising and fruitful players. That's my view.

If SAF still Manutd manager, Rooney would be sold at last summer.

Starting XI : De Gea; Smalling, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra; Carrick, Fellaini; Mata, Rooney, Januzaj; van Persie.

Fellaini just missed a sitter from less than 10 yards. Sigh. How can he not score. Lack of match play time, i believe, sharpness is affected. We controlled the play, if this continue in 2nd half, I will be surprised if we do not score at least 2 goals later. Look at it, Crystal Palace defense is not so strong in this game, there were many MU corners and set plays. Rooney missed a free kick left of goal to end the first half 0-0.

Performance wasn't too good. But 3 points is good enough.

Having a clean sheet and 1st away win of 2014 will do well for the confidence

DM changes his targets again: 4th place finish in EPL and win Champions League. From the current squad, both objectives are just not possible. He knows it but still prefers to sound this unattainable goals. So arrogant after just a 2-0 win over average place club. He should be more realistic, be more down to earth and not make a fool of himself. Getting the 5th spot instead - Europa spot and have some European soccer next season is more achievable. Putting his squad in such pressures serve no purpose. Re-building into a formiable squad for assault in all competitions (except Champions League) next season should be his main priority.

He forgot Everton still got a game in hand.... counting chickens before the eggs hatched. Haiz....

Tonight game on !! Hope Moyes not break another record lol

gone case.. 2 nil down..

Cleverley horrible in midfield..

Bayer Leverkusen 0-4 Paris Saint-Germain
Manchester City 0-2 Barcelona
AC Milan 0-1 Atletico Madrid
Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
Zenit St Petersburg 2-4 Borussia Dortmund
Olympiakos 2-0 Manchester United

Round of 16 matches so far..
another mini record broken..

can you spot it?

one shot on target….. something is brewing….

the starting lineup was really strange..

when United played Palace on Saturday the team generally did well.. even the Afro man did an ok job..
but bloody sh*t what did Moyes do?.. made so many changes..

he brought Cleverley on for Fellaini, Young and Valencia for Januzaj and Mata.. (of course Mata cup-tied)
should have just kept the same lineup with Kagawa on for Mata..

so many things gone wrong but the one that pisses me off the most was Cleverley..
gave an interview saying he has been made a scapegoat for United's poor form.. but that joker made more passes to the Greeks than to his teammates..

how long more the ginger goblin will be in charge and will he be able to turn it around???..

I cancelled my Mio in protest against Singtel for the price hike.
Thought I'll regret not watching Man Utd.
Turns out I don't miss the shambolic play from them.
I'm still a fan which is why I'm disappointed by the lack of fire from the players we loved to watch.

Half the season has gone and Moyes still don't know his best team.
Changing players for every match is a reactive move in preparation for the opponent. It's not the same as rotation as practised by Ferguson. Back then when Fergie changed players, the team still more or less played the same. Now it's the opposite.

Really sad.
