Man Utd needs a goal-scoring midfielder with vision, technique, movement and deft passing.

ummm.....that would be Kagawa, right?

Am surprised he's not been playing regularly under Moyes, and may even be sold soon.

Eh.... according to DM philosophy... Kagawa is too small in EPL.... he must be big and strong.... same as when playing for Japan, Honda is the center and Kagawa play left too.....

Maybe DM is just jealous of his gf.... are they still together?

Do you think the result so far Moyes got worried ? I didnt see it when reporter interview him. He always push the blame on others not him , i think i wld slap him if i was there =p

I would just get a shot gun and waste him...

Haha I dun think any manager would show that they are worried

Man U seems to be paying the odd for players.... maybe no one want to come to Man U anymore...

As long as our DM is there... lol...

Battling Bluebirds drop to bottom of Prem

No one gave Cardiff a chance against Manchester City, and while it ended with a routine home win for the Citizens, the 4-2 scoreline offers Cardiff some hope that they can start getting positive results.

It's a worrying time for Cardiff as the club now sit in 20th place in the Premier League. The defeat at Man City was their third loss in a row and it's now zero wins in the last six games, five of them defeats and just one win in the last 12 matches.

With the next league game away at Manchester United, it might get worse before things will start to get better.

It's not quite crisis time; I'm not trying to be negative by highlighting the current position -- just realistic. I believe we have reasons to be optimistic.

Cardiff took part in an entertaining match against Manchester City and can take heart that they are only the second club to come away having scored more than one goal in a Premier League match at The Etihad. All eleven league visitors this season have perished with Arsenal managing to score three goals in a 6-3 defeat.

Manchester City started the day with 99 goals in all games this season. Their 100th came with a Premier League milestone. Edin Dzeko's scuffed effort just crossed the line before Kevin McNaughton cleared and the goal line technology system correctly alerted the referee that a goal should be awarded. That was the first time a goal scored decision has been confirmed by the new technology.

The build-up to the goal was controversial as David Silva appeared to handle the ball. The Cardiff defence all raised their arms to protest and it was that hesitation that allowed Dzeko the yard of space to get the crucial touch.

Those expecting the floodgates to open were made to think again when Cardiff equalised. A move down the right hand side that Man City would have been proud of was finished off by Craig Noone. A quality pass from Kevin Theopile Catherine was flicked into Noone's path by Aron Gunnarsson and the Cardiff winger calmly stepped inside Vincent Kompany before wrong-footing Joe Hart.

Cardiff might have given themselves a better chance of actually causing an upset if they had managed to keep the score level until halftime. Instead, Jesus Navas put Man City back in front just minutes after Noone's goal.

Cardiff kept the game close until two more Man City goals in the span of a few second half minutes. Yaya Toure showed his desire to win possession back from Noone and Toure ran three quarters of the length of the pitch to play a one- two off substitute Sergio Aguero before blasting past a helpless David Marshall.

Aguero then wrapped up the points when he turned Steven Caulker inside out before blasting another effort past Marshall.

Despite the game being out of reach of The Bluebirds, the team kept looking to attack. Noone played his best game for Cardiff as he made it an uncomfortable afternoon for Pablo Zabaleta. Apart from his goal, his first ever in the Premier League, Noone forced two excellent saves from Hart and impressed everyone with his pacey performance.

Fraizer Campbell scored a second goal for Cardiff in injury time. It was just a consolation goal but could be important for confidence. It was Campbell's third goal against Man City this season and all of them from corners. The two he scored at Cardiff City Stadium in August helped Cardiff to a 3-2 shock win.

The Cardiff side was improved with the return from injury of Jordon Mutch and I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will look to develop a stronger midfield with added pace. That may see the first of Solskjaer's signings Magnus Wolff Eikrem coming into the starting line-up ahead of Peter Whittingham. The return from injury of Craig Bellamy could also have a significant impact on Cardiff's attempts to improve their form.

Since Solskjaer took over 17 days ago, Cardiff have shown a greater desire to attack teams. Solskjaer watched the New Year's Day defeat at Arsenal and witnessed a rear guard action from Cardiff. He took charge the following day and since then has seen his side win at Newcastle in the FA Cup, lose unluckily to West Ham and give Man City a decent game scoring two goals.

The bottom eleven teams in the Premier League table are covered by just six points. Cardiff might be bottom but a team that puts two results together can see a significant improvement in their league position.

Once Cardiff get the away trip to Man United out of the way, they face Norwich, Swansea, Aston Villa and Hull City in February. All four teams are in the group of eleven that are congested at the bottom of the table and maybe, crucially for Cardiff, three of those games are at Cardiff City Stadium. Looking a bit further ahead Cardiff also have to face Fulham, Stoke and Crystal Palace at Cardiff City Stadium. It will be from those games that decide if Cardiff are going to be good enough to stay up.

If Solskjaer continues to play positive attacking football at home against teams that are nowhere near as good as Manchester City, Cardiff have a very good chance of keep themselves in the Premier League.

I know I am obsess in following Solskjaer... and thought to hightlight what I thought was a good assessment of his team...

I like it they attack teams, even Man City, Cardiff also attacked, and even when 4-1 down, they fight to score 1 goal.... his battling trait is there, and I thought that was good....

I do look forward to Man U vs Cardiff... especially if Solskjaer get a result with Cardiff at Old Trafford... the other name for OT.. Theater of Dreams... now... more like "Theater of Nightmares"!!!

Can say that DM dont like to use Kagawa, just like Mata under Mourinho

Looks like Mata is heading over to you guys. Will be sad to see him go.

Still wondering get which name to get print on jersey , if Mata come then solve the problem =)

Lucky we lose, otherwise it'll be very humiliating to be thrashed 10-0 by Manchester City in the finals.

How on earth did we not score more and win it during normal play time? It's no longer about the lack of strikers, the whole team needs an overhaul, including a new manager and coaches. Mentally players are weak and perhaps very pressurised to win the 2nd leg and get team to the final. De Gea's error may be one cause of the loss, but loosing at home on penalties, its very very embarassing and sad, did they not train to anticipate penalties shootout, I wonder?

Under DM...anything is possible...in just 6 mths...he seems have broken all the records SAF held in the last 3 decades...I mean all the "bad records".... :bsmilie:

When you know welbeck the 1st to kick penalty it is game over already =)

I think Europa league also a bit challenge...
I agree

1. His first BIG MISTAKE... replace all the coaches, and bring in his gang of sub-par coaches who won... won... won what???
Philip Neville...yeah....he is an extra in MU previously and now he came back and boss around me...put your self into Carrick and Young's shoe

2. SAF wants Rooney out but he goes all the way to keep Rooney, but Rooney is still leaving... I guess...
If you have a staff who treatening quit every 6 months....will you pay him more to keep him or cash him in for profit? Even my daughter know the math

3. His tactics.... is there??? Does not seems to have plan B and C when A is gone...
No plan B or C is also a tactic, 敌动我不动, means - enemy move, I stay put

4. Players are not so motivated like this....
I always feel soldier go to the front line for war...and it's the general and ruler's job to motivate their soldier so that their country are safe and strong, obviously the entire kindom are still on Xmas right now

5. Training methods - Could he have over trained the players till they are injured and not performing on match day? One of the rumours.
I read Carrington has the best facilities and best peoples....so how people get injured easily compared to QPR or Fullham is beyond me..

6. Internal unrest - highly likely....
Well...with strong head like Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand around...I am not surprise....tell me besides Roy Keane and Anelka...who else dare to walk out their team coach in the mid of World cup tournament?

7. Lack charisma.... and too much excuses....
Charisma is very subjective...when you win you are a star...when you loose you are rubbish...Look at Andrea Villa Boas

I do not feel the players are fighting for him...
I won't if I am the player too...

Maybe they should do it the 'chelsea' way of players revolution to have DM out?

Yeah...that was for average team...for super team like MU.....you need 1 or 2 star player who can challenge for Ballon O D if not at least EPL Player of the year.....every succesfully full....there is definately 1 or 2 super striker who can bang in close to 30 goals....MU use to have Andy Cole/Dwight Yorke...Rudd Van Nisterooy....Ronaldo......with them around...even midfielder of defender can score goal for fun............RVP/Rooney are the closest things they can afford right now......so without them....the entire team like headless chicken and the goal dry up.....U need to fix the top and the bottom will straight up naturally...

Miss those days where we are a all scoring team even Peter Schmicheal can go up front to score, to shoot at goal, for corner kick,

Looks like Mata is heading over to you guys. Will be sad to see him go.

But not sure if he can fit and gel in... not into the team but the struggling DM tactics...

Its super sad! Think they are losing out on the mental strength...
