SAF will face 3 of his old boys, Mark Hughes's Blackburn, Steve Bruce's Birmingham and Roy Keane's Sunderland. And there is also United old boy Steve Coppel's Reading.
Milan will be very difficult. They have nothing to play for in the league and rested many players. They will be up for it. I think Man Utd will conceed but hopefully the patch up defence can hold out and we can out score them. :devil:
yeah,...... i do hope we can score a couple of goals and hopefully the patched up defense hold the fort well...i think in this case, its extremely impt to have at least one of their midfielders help in cutting milan's movement.... i seriously don't see fletcher being able to cut those....
hopefully carrick and scholes can try to compromise...sometimes carrick does, sometimes scholes does....else they'll be so dogtired after that
BTW what time is the match .... its on thursday super early morning rite? or was it wednesday
I hope Ferdinand and Vidic are fit to play in the second leg against AC Milan. I am more worried about the rest of the players especially the Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs and company. Lethargy may set in especially having played so many matches lately. Since we are so close to the promised land (2nd Treble), hopefully this will spur them on to grind out the desired results.:devil:
seems like drinking italian wines prior and during the match is quite directly related to man Utd winning....!!!!
i think u'd better start on some..... and make sure u start drinking a bottle DURING the match

Yeah, I did too but not Italian wine. Drank some cheap Aussie wine - Kangaroo Ridge Merlot (GIANT sales and grabbed a few bottles for leisurely drink) - during the match. Maybe, we should have this motto: "Have wine, will win". :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :devil:

It seems that he has an axe to grind with SAF, Bernitez, Wenger, etc. and the referees and made alot of nonsensical comments lately. I agreed with what Tohari Paijan said in Sunday's New Paper on his analysis on the Chelsea vs Bolton match. He said among other things:
"To me, it was a sign of him cracking under pressure. It showed that he was getting desperate. Perhaps this is due to the fact that he is not used to playing catch-up".
I just hope we win the EPL title this weekend and watch how his face look as black as charcoal. Sore loser, MOAN-rinho! :devil:

I think Ronaldo and Rooney should be up for it, afterall they are young. But the rest of the squad like Scholes and Giggs will really need ample rest. The good thing is they can afford to play counter-attack but I don't advocate really sitting back and soaking the pressure that will surely lead to doom. GOGOGO !!!
The best form of defence is attack. In order to cover up for your defensive deficiency, attack more and score more goals. This will make up for any goals conceded. But, with Ferdinand and Vidic coming back for the 2nd leg of the semi-final match against AC Milan, the defence shouldn't be much of a concern anymore. The problem would be whether the midfielders and strikers are able to drag and perk up their tired bodies to create and score more goals to qualify for the final.:devil:

Yes I hope SAF will go for the attacking option instead of the 'european wait and see how then attack'.
i think it will be a 4-5-1 as Milan got 2 defensive midfielders in Gatusso and Seedorf. Fletcher as the destroyer supported by Carrick and the attacking trio of Scholes, Ronaldo and Giggs. Rooney can be lone striker and he seem to be able to cope. He is on fire and hope he continues his rampage against the Italians. :devil:
Defence is still a mystery! Inzaghi.....basket this old fox is still dangerous after all these years!

if i'm SAF>..i'll also play this formation....4-5-1, but i think fletcher thends to like to go front........ i'm thinking if its good to take a gamble....unleash ronaldo just b4 1/2 time........
he's fast and pacey..... and hopefully the italians would have 1/2 the strength then.... then again...its quite a gamble....
if the midfield can stave off the attack, inzagi or not oso wont affect that much....
mainthing is everybody has to help cover...but just don't do a evra on Heinze ....(did u guys realised that for the everton match, he did the same thing again? so gan cheong, his eyes glued to the ball, never see bakebeans.........)
If we can score the first goal then the pressure will be on the Italians. SAF is keeping his cards close to his heart until the match day. U will never know what he has in mind especially if our two defenders are back. He will then have better options with O Shea and Fletcher at his disposal.:devil: :devil:
