Hi
Was at the Malay Heritage Centre yesterday (opening ceremony) to watch some cultural shows. Here are some images to share with you. Feel free to comment.
This is the frontal view of the Malay Heritage Centre, what used to be a palace. More on the place here: http://www.malayheritage.org.sg/
One of the sideshows was showcasing some of the traditional female Malay costumes. This is one of the 4 'models'.
Here's another shot of the same 'model'.
A couple of the traditional Kuda Kepang dancers (dancing with 'wooden' horses). Traditionally, these dancers go into a trance when they do the dance, and may do other things such as eat glass etc. But those were the days...
Balancing the Keris (traditional Malay weapon of choice for close combat) on its tip required some pretty steady hands. The above was the biggest one on show.
A few more images can be found here: http://www.brickandbutter.com/cpg132/
Cheers....Nizz
