Was broswing through macro forum and I was really impressed with Megaweb's shots. Just wondering anyone here can advise what are the tools needed to shoot that kind of macro shots ???

Thanks in advance..

Not a macro shooter but I believe you will need the followings:
1. Macro lens that can produce 1:1 or coupled up with close up filters to allow larger magnification
2. Tripod to mount ur camera + lens for macro shots
3. Bounce flash ?
4. Luck ?
5. Patience and lots of them ! :sweatsm:

or cheaper way is using a reverse macro setting by reverse mount a 50mm or other lens, but flash indeed is essential.

for reverse mount 50mm lens, you can't use Minolta's AF has the aperture blades will be closed up to the highest f-stop by default (eg: f/32). It would be recommended to buy any other 50mm lens that has an aperture ring, be it AF or Manual of any brand (including Minolta MD 50mm).

Gd idea!! brought a 100 mm macro but nvn try yet... main thing really dun know how to use flash for macro..3600HS can ?

Hi, use to do macro. I use dynax 7 with 5400HS flash. I have a bracket to mount my camera and flash cause when we mount the flash on top of our hotshoe the coverage is no good when we get close to the subject...I also use a offshoe cable to connect the flash to my camera...so lighting will be side lighting...well, if you want better bracket, I think cathay photo sells them...forget the name...sorry...
