This is very true... my object needs to be almost like just 2-3cm away from the tip of my rear element of my 50 f/1.8 ... it will do if there is no wind or that the insect or whatever it is is lifeless and not moving :think: but the magnification ratio is a plus point... so maybe i cant hunt a few dead insects make them pose a lively posture and pass off as if they are alive.. .:bsmilie:

Hey I just tested my 2x set-up for diffraction and it's an issue at F22. For 3x - 4x mag, perhaps it would be more practical to stick to between F11 - F16.
