hi guys,

any comments on this len

tokina atx pro 100mm macro against the tamron 90mm?;p

Hi, I am considering getting the 105mm VR. But I am also considering the Sigma APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG Macro HSM lens for its range and flexibility.:dunno:

May I have some comments please. Thanks.

tamron 90mm is v sharp and it is comparable to the canon 100mm

Almost all my macro shots of insects and flowers are taken with the 60mm, a longer focal length would be divine but if you're starting out and on a budget, the 60mm will not disappoint. in fact, you'll fall in love with this lens.

light, and razor sharp, its makes it great for handholding and produces really crisp images. or so thats what i think :)

Do visit this link, i tagged all my photos taken with the 60mm micro for your reference.

ps: i also shoot portraits with it wide open.

The 105mm VR will give you dedicated macro magnification (that is, subjects will appear life size at the closest focusing distance), while the 70-200 does not. It just allows you to focus a little closer (min. focusing distance of 0.8 or 0.9m IIRC) than a regular 70-200.

Sigma is strange in that they use the word "macro" on almost all their lenses (which I find a little annoying after awhile, because it's so misleading).

Thanks very much for your comment. Decided to get the Nikon 105mm VR.:D

It's a very good lens. Sharp and fast-focusing, and very useful as a medium tele lens.

I know a few people who sold it off, then regretted selling it. :bsmilie:
