Hi monscine

Extension tube does not have any lens just an empty tube with different thickness, for macro converter there are multi element(lenses) in it, to my knowledge they have 4 element to 7 element . :)

This macro converter is fully manual. Yes! you lose 2 stops. :)

so if i want the kind of macro standard like the spider pic tat the thread starter has took,i will just need to buy the macro converter?

Any idea where and how much i can get it? ;p

Hi patktl

I bought this macro teleplus 25 years ago, don't really remember the shop i purchase from, upon checking the box is says $295.00 maybe you can try those shops the sell old camera stuff. Sorry can't help you much.

Hi all Macro shooters. :)

The Singapore 5 cents coin is for thickness comparison, you will be amaze to know how thin the spider is and you can see the hair pores too, this is the results from the setup.

Why ask the same question twice without reading ANY of the replies?

Stevewhy has already answered that and so did stinkyfoot17 by quoting Stevewhy's previous answer. None of them them you seemed to read.

The kind of macro the spider pic is showing can be done several ways, one is through using a normal lens and a macro converter, another, simpler but maybe more expensive way is through buying a 1:1 macro lens. There are other ways also, I suggest you start by reading.

... ... is all i can ... ... good . at the very first i just thought getting a teleconverter & a macro will do , but after reading more , i was wrong . you are good !

Hi Stevewhy, do you have the capability of using any matrix metering that is in your friend's D70s with the macro convertor?

Very sorry mickie can't remember on the matrix metering part, this is a fully manual setup, I've been testing quite a number of setup that I lost track on this. ;)

Actually...what's the diff between a macro converter and a teleconverter?

Actually...what's the diff between a macro converter and a teleconverter?

Hi Kirika
Sorry did not notice you post a question.

Macro converter = convert a standard lens into 1:1 life-size macro lens and you can shoot at a nearer distance, cheaper than dedicated macro lens(poor man macro).

Teleconverter = example, 2 X teleconverter with a 200mm, it turn into a 400mm lens, also a cheaper way, usually for long reach not for close up.

Is there any shops in SG that I could purchase close-up filter with a 55mm screw-thread? No luck with most of the shops that i have visited.:(

Firstly, I would like to apologize to those above, Ming9866, Layarda, natx and Anson sorry for the late reply. :embrass::embrass:
