Thanks Third3rdWheel. Its a nice enough snap just outside the hotel.

Flinchy, you'll have to go elsewhere for pictures worthy of an M9 :bsmilie:

I'm good only for buying the camera, not shooting it. They're quite different talents.

Another snap, but this time with 21mm wide open. Everything seems good but there's plenty of CA.

This shot looks very sharp with good micro contrast (look at the ceiling details) and solid depth (balcony stand really stand out) on my screen. I can imagine how it is like viewing the original file.

21mm is now 21mm on M9. I guest wide open at f1.4 really allow you with good hand held speed for this nice indoor shot.

Thanks for sharing. :)

Truncatus, you right about the CA. Just bear in mind that this was shot at f1.4. All I can say is that it gets a lot better if you stop down the lens.

Sharpness also improves stopping down. But even wide open, I don't think anyone would have issues. At full size the details on the ceiling panels came out very nicely. This thing is damn good on details. Saw a test somewhere that the 24mm f1.4 was sharper though.

me too!

my dream will be to get a M9 + 50mm Summilux ASPH

I think i saw a white Leica M9 @ cathay photo this afternoon.
I am pretty sure, i saw a tail number 9 and not a round 8...
The sales was actually showing it to customer.

By the way, can share what are some of the lenses that you are using on your M9? Cheers.

I am looking for the steel coloured one - managed to locate one at S$9,900 overseas. Is that a good price compared to whjat one has to pay in Singapore?

It definitely is, only issue is whether the ADs in Singapore will help deal with the warranty issues if you did not buy it locally. I was told by one shop that this could be an issue, although I am not sure this is necessarily true.....

Sorry for the noob query. Doesn't Leica have a worldwide guarantee that I can take to someone in Singapore for servicing?

I guess that would be Schmidt Marketing....not sure whether there are complications on the warranty bit if purchased abroad. Maybe someone experienced can comment on this....

I supposed Schmidt may oblige to take it in but you probably you have to pay for shipping & insurance for them to send to Solms.:dunno:
Otherwise, you may wish to deal with Leica in Solms directly.

I checked with them before on this. Schmidt will send in the camera for you and the cost of repair will be covered by warranty but you will have to pay for shipping and insurance (both ways) if the camera did not come in through them (they'll just check the serial number). Think the laws are different for international warranties cos in the US, everything is covered from what i heard.

All, If you are keen, I saw a NZ shop selling it for 9.9K NZD.

SGD9.9k anywhere is a buy at this time. Stocks difficult to find. None available in London.

Very surprised that there are none in London, but yet pieces have come to Singapore and New Zealand. :)

It happened to me with my R4 purchased in London way back in '83. The stop down lever was not working after a year. I sent this back through Schmidt. I had to pay for the freight, handling and insurance charges. You must show the stamped and dated warranty card.
