i bought a 50usd synthetic leather case from Mr Zhou in ebay.
looks nice, but the grap was lousy, and the material rather slippery.
any better suggestions?

Leicatime if you wanna pamper yourself.

Otherwise, Artisan & Artist is great! Let's lunch and I can show u wat I mean :)

I second Leicatime - superb, "haute couture" luxurious looks and soft feel, expensive, reliable, long wait (unless you request Fedex - 2 to 3 days only). Love them on my Leicas. He has 2 versions, the "economic" half-case version is good enough. Asked him to make some for the Olympus OMs, but after acquiring some original leather OM cases on eBay, I now know it's not viable for him :-)

His straps are great too, but I am now making them on my own. I just buy the leather strips, tools, connectors on eBay, voila, luxurious leather shoulder and wrist straps for all your cameras.

You can also get his soft release buttons (big for Leica, small for others - Rollei TLRs, OMs, Voigtlander, etc.), best ones I've tried so far, particularly the convex ones.

Here is another one, although I still prefer Leicatime, this might suit some tastes, from my friendly film supplier:

I think there is some misunderstanding here. The Zhou's case is not made of "synthetic leather" but genuine leather. I have four Mr. Zhou's case and I have Luigi's case too. They are all great products --- of coz in their different price levels.

I'm using a Zhou case myself for my M2, very comfortable for me although I did get it when it was pretty worn in ;)

Some things do get better with age! :)

Agreed, here's one I just got, deliberately for my other camera : (must try to disinfect first :-))

Now looking for ways to make my Leica look aged, maybe sandpaper it :bsmilie:. No matter how much I use it, it still looks new, I don't have 30 years to wait for it to look aged ...

That looks really good! Love the aged brown colour!

Use your camera everyday... confirm your Leica will age well! :)

Wish I could, but besides lovely Leica, have to satisfy the other "mistresses" too - like "Olympia" (my favorite 35mm now), etc. :bsmilie:

Here's a new design from A&A, don't know if they will have for M6.

They do.. the picture on the link suggests one for the M8 and the other for the other Ms, excluding the M5 & CL :)

Aiyo... if u want "cheap" then u have to live with the quality... my friend....

The Japanese A&A are so much more refined and it's readily available in Grandlink Square...

Unless U want the trill of bidding & getting another lemon when your friendly singpost postman comes knocking at your door....

hey, A&A i find not that great leh. very hard leather. what is the best for me, is mr luigi no doubt! really soft and moist!

With a sharp enough knife, some goat or calf skin and a fair amount of patience, you could make your own halfcase. I went down that route since I was too cheap to pay someone else.
Results are fair; on hindsight I would have spent a bit more time trimming the lining, and the stitching could be a tad more even, but I'll save the effort for another case instead.

No! one must try the crapy leather case first, in order to appreciate the best. :sticktong

Part of a yoga mat from Watsons.
Its some bright green colour, so the best fate for it was to use a bit of it for the case..

Very smart choice of material!! Does not retain moisture and have the right amount of feel!!

Cheers,
