Thanks all for the comments and discussion. I have already bought the Oly 45mm f/1.8 , getting used to framing with it still, but I think I'll get there soon. The lens build feels and looks very high quality, even though it's plastic. Focus ring is wide, very smooth and responsive, much better to use than the focus rings on my panasonic 20mm and 14-45mm actually.
I also just got my raynox dcr-250 macro adapter to mount on my 14-45mm lens for macro shots, and I'm quite happy with the results actually. Definitely save a lot more money than getting a PL45, plus it can be adapted to future lenses.
Here are some shots from the past couple of days to share, taken with the Zuiko 45mm f/1.8 on a E-P2, the last macro shot of the flower is taken with the Panasonic 14-45mm with Raynox DCR-250 macro adapter.
