Why dun u set ur kit to 12mm and 25mm and shoot for a day to see which focal length u prefer?

Actually both of them compliments each other very well. Always have both of them when I'm out.

I dun shoot wide angle so for me its only the PL25mm.. :)

Both are different, so get both, but get the one you use more first.

Bro I assume 12mm f2 at $980 is good price? I was quoted that price in one of the shop, may go get it if that is right.

You only mentioned 12 or 25, so I presume u have a budget.

I would say go for 25, because your 12mm is well covered by the 12-50. Generally speaking, you do not need that 1 and 2/3 stop for wide angle unless you really need to freeze motion.

The 25/1.4 will be more useful as the 25mm on the 12-50 is having an aperture of F3.x.or F4.0+/- and you will gain like 3 stops for street shots. It is also cheaper at $800 new compared to $1000++ for the 12/2.0. Resale value holds as it is more in demand and out of stock recently.

Thanks subzero, glad you like it. If only i can edit it to "traveling with mirrorless Olympus" now ;p

The Achilles heel of the panny 20mm is the relatively slow AF motor. Can't match and make full use of the AF speed of the new generation m4/3 bodies.

is the 17mm f2.8 faster than the 20mm?

At least on the 1st generation of m43 bodies the 17mm was slower (AF) than the 20mm.
