but 2 qns -
does the 3650 have auto load and scan for mounted slide? if yes, how many slide per each time? any additional cost for the automatic feeder?
i only have window98 running on pentium 166MMX with 125mb ram, is this enough?

Hi,
The PF3650Pro3 model is more for batch scan for film strips and roll.As for slide mount scanning it is single scan at one time and it is manual loading.

The PS3600 (Power Slides) is the model that does batch scans for slides and it is auto loading. 50 slides can be loaded at one time for scanning.

Auto loading feature is build in the scanner software and does not cost additional $$$...So Not to Worry on Hidden costs...!

1 year parts and labour warranty for purchases.

The min. requirement to run the scanner is as below,
PC System Specs.
  • Pentium II,300Mhz or Later
  • 128MB or Higher (preferable 256MB or higher)
  • HDD space 120MB or Higher
  • OS Win98 or Later OS versions

MAC System Specs.
  • G3 or Later
  • 128MB or Higher
  • HDD space 120MB or Higher
  • OS 9.0 or Later OS versions/ X10.1.5 or Later

The PowerSlide- PS3600

Hi,
You can go to our website www.wilkenn.com to view the sample scans.

:)

Hi,

We have left with 2 units available from the M.O. :o

Hi, I have personally used the film scanner above. I can say it's easy to use and no problems with uncut rolls. (I left it to scan the whole roll while I sleep, etc.) Colours are natural and close to prints if you select the right option. Though only the popular films are available with the supplied softwares. (If like me, you use a Samsung film or a multispeed you may need to make individual adjustment on the colour cast) I learnt that upgrades are already available.

The only problem I have with it is when scanning B/W film as it comes only with a generic B/W setting. Upgrade drivers are slowly coming. You can scan it as a colour photo but then a bit of noise and you'll have to convert it to greyscale in an imaging software. I hope the manufacturer will improve on the B/W part as I am not really satisfied with the upgrade driver for Ilford. I get quite grainy scans with the finest b/w film (ilford pan F 50 plus).

Scanning at high res is not problem, unless you are using a USB 1 interface (which is not the scanners fault), this will take the scanner twice the time to scan.

I have not fully exploit the scanner to give a review. I feel the manufacturer continue to provide upgrades, this scanner, for its hardware capability, is value for money.

Where can I see a demo. Will like to see how it work... Thanks.
