Anyone knows for sure if the LX3 is the only PNS model that offers F/2 Aperture? Whats the average shutter speed you guys are shooting at night? Without overexposing.

Some benefits:-
- Save battery power (you get to switch off the LCD panel).
- You get to see the subject even in the bright outdoors which can sometimes verwhelm the LCD image.
After reading everyone's feedback on the LX3, i'm tempted to get one myself as a carry-around camera (instead of DSLR)![]()
Anyone have any idea how this compares against the Canon PNS range - ie is there a similar in the Canon range? G9?
whats the price of this baby now? just the body
Erm, with the viewfinder on hor. How do you change the settings or do a manual focus? Like lets say in manual or AP or SP mode, how do we noe which values are we on?
I think the LX3 is more for wide shooters in available light, with a 24-60mm-equiv, f/2-2.8 lens. The Canon G10, and some in the SX and the IXUS series start at 28mm-equiv, but they zoom out further (useful in more situations). However, those lenses start at f/2.8 and lose maximum aperture further as you zoom out (thus not so useful for dimmer-light scenes). Ironically, though, the LX3 doesn't have a built-in optical viewfinder. After reading everyone's feedback on the LX3, i'm tempted to get one myself as a carry-around camera (instead of DSLR)![]()

Since i've gotten the lx3 for abt 2weeks+, have been playing arnd with it
I really like the F2.0, i can do some pretty decent/ok night shots at 80-200 iso without the use of a tripod
Just that when i wanna take potrait, its abit tricky due to its wide angle...
I have to go quite close to the subject to get a nice framing, I don't think its very comfortable to have a camera shoved too close for comfort
Just curious why is it when i do a zoom, it can only do 2.8
Am i right to say the zoom is actually just a crop of the full image?
Checking Amazon, the Voigtlander VFs (e.g. 21mm) are over 100USD. Not cheap but perhaps can substitute for the Pana one.
